  1. LXI "write port error

I use both Flexi/LXI & Corel. Flexi does alot of things better than Corel and Corel does a lot of things better than Flexi. Its hard to find one program that does everything well.
  2. LXI "write port error

Ive had this happen before with flexi (Same program), the solution to the problem is to reset to the default settings. Go to Start/Programs/LXI/Clear Preferences You will have to re-configure your software again, but it did fix the problem for me.
  3. How do you guys like your Versacamm?

DBT34, It sounds like you may have your ink limits set to high, or your heater is not running high enough. My printers are dry to the touch by the time they come off the printer. For some reason Roland sets the ink limits way high on their profiles (normally 300-400). If you drop your ink...
  4. How do you guys like your Versacamm?

I have the versacamm and love it... IMO its the best in its class (36" or smaller machines). Roland has a wide varity of materials to print on (You can also print on just about any sign vinyl). The important thing to me is the number of profiles that are available of the different medias...
  5. how to print end to end in Roland VersaCAMM SP-300

CW Graphix is correct. 29 inches is the max print area on the Versacamm, 1 inch is reserved for the friction feed rollers. As far as media goes, the versacamm will print on just about anything with the proper heat and profile settings. Its probably easier to say what it wont print on. Ive...
  6. Versacamm Help / Info

You can print on about anything that will fit through the rollers. 3M, Avery, Oracal, FDC, Mactac, etc. You will find that the uncoated printable vinyls normally print a bit better though. Also the printable vinyls are usually free of dust and have a better finish.
  7. VMP with VersaCamm?

Under the outline tool you go to the palette tab and create a color called CutPath. It can be any color as long as its called CutPath. You then create an outline or whatever you want to do and set it to that color. Everything that is this color will be cut.
  8. VMP with VersaCamm?

Im not familiar with Omega so I can not comment on its compatibility... A few things to point out though. 1. The software your using must be able to create a spot color called "CutPath". This spot color is applied to any lines you wish to be cut lines. Without this ability you cannot cut...
  9. Esm Banner For Versacamm

Glad things worked out for ya man... BTW, its Barry not Berry... :D
  10. Esm Banner For Versacamm

DJ, The profiles are on Rolands sight under Support/ICC Profile wizard and then output/COLORRIP 2.x/Versacamm SP-300/CMYK Eco-SOL INK/ESM-LBV Light-Weight Banner Vinyl.
  11. New Gerber Edge FX Announced

The only negitive is its still to small... I find my 30" versacamm to small in a lot of cases.
  12. Adobe Illustrator - Don't Go to Work without It

Actually I would consider both a must.
  13. VersaCamm & Inconsistant Cutting

I answered this on the other forum, but I will say it again over here for everyones benifit. Make sure your heat is off when cutting laminated material. The front part of the vinyl is usually warmed more than the rest allowing for deeper cuts. This may or may not be your problem, but I have...
  14. two cutters

I run both my Summa D60 & Versacamm off the same PC (Printing on one while cutting on the other). There should be no reason you should not be able to do this. Each device has its own port with its own address.
  15. Outlines and contours

I assume your talking about in Corel. I get this sometimes as well. I just export load into flexi and create the line in there. Flexi does not have this issue.
  16. Cadet Full Solvent Ink

First I hate to tell you this, but the solvent inks do not hold up that much better than the eco-solvent inks. Honestly both need to be laminated for automotive applications. For thicker films I use Covex 8 mil. It seems to work pretty well for standard decals that do not use application...
  17. SignArt Nautilis

Personally I have only heard negitive comments about this printer. For the money you can get a much better printer (Versacamm)...
  18. ENCAD VINYLJET v.s. Roland VersaCamm

If you have a Versacamm you really need another cutter to do cut work anyways. At 11ips the versacamm is just 2 slow to be utilized as a full time cutter. Personally I use my versacamm for print/cut stuff and my Summa D60 for cut vinyl. Versacamm prints should be laminated if used out...
  19. Media for Encad VinylJet

Your media is probably curling because your cutting on a ink line. This is a common problem with inkject printers... You need to either laminate or leave a small white border around the decal to solve this problem.
  20. 600dpi or 1200dpi

For the cost of an edge, you may want to start considering some of the newer large format inkjet printers. Versacamm, Mamiki, etc.
