  1. Poster Printing - Latex or Aqueous?

We currently have 2 latex printers, a 360 and an L26500. It's possible we might be getting an account to do a lot of poster printing. If this is the case, would it be better to get a cheaper aqueous printer like the Z6200? What are the pros and cons to printing on something like that for posters...
  2. Extremely slow L360

Any updates on this? I have had the same issue with my 360 not going as fast as I think it should, or going slow for a time, then fast for a time. We've swapped router/switches with no help. I'm going to swap computers next since we have a spare one laying around and I'm going to try a new...
  3. Poster paper/paper for hp360

We tried the HP Photo Realistic Poster Paper on our L360 and we got head strikes in 5 out of 6 prints. Called HP and they said they knew that was an issue and recommended going with a different poster media for the L360.
  4. Latex Printable Barrier Film

Hello! Anyone know of a latex printable barrier film out there? Seems like barrier films only come UV printable... but we only print latex. It seems silly that there wouldn't be some kind of latex printable version out there, but maybe there just isn't. My goal is to make double sided stickers...
  5. Noob Routing Questions

Hey guys! Just got our Summa F1612 this last week and I'm really having fun diving into routing. I have a couple questions: - Are there good sources for purchasing sacrificial porous mats? Summa sells a roll of "milling mat" and it's quite expensive. Looks like a soft foam to me. They also...
  6. Summa F1612 and Routing

    Will do!
  7. Summa F1612 and Routing

We are kinda in the same boat, but we are doing it anyway ;) We have about 1200 sq/ft of shop and that currently holds: 4 - 4x8 work benches, shelving, shipping station, 2 - HP Latex Printers, 2 - Wide Format Laminators, 2 - Summa S2 Cutters, 1 - Summa DC4sx, and then today an F1612 coming in...
  8. Summa F1612 and Routing

Gotcha. Thank you. I hope it works out ok. We don't have anymore places to put it really.
  9. Summa F1612 and Routing

Hey guys! Welp, we are bringing an F1612 online tomorrow. We purchased it with the router option. Our shop is small, and the ideal place to put the router would be about 10ft from one of our printers. Since we won't be doing any wood routing, should I worry at all about dust on my prints...
  10. Special Matte Laminate

Satin isn't an option. The surface is flat, but it's too glossy. Not the look we are going for. The problem is that we've received every matte sample from pretty much all the main manufacturers, and none of them are flat. 3M, Avery, Oracal, Arlon, GF... unless I've missed something. And all of...
  11. Special Matte Laminate

Thank you so much for that clarification! Where do I get Flat Matte Laminate? Nothing really pulls up when I search for it.
  12. Special Matte Laminate

Ok, I actually just bought some and gave it to a customer. I may go borrow a cup. Thanks for the recommendation!
  13. Special Matte Laminate

I'm not sure. I'm not familiar enough with liquid laminates to know. There's definitely some sort of something on top. It's definitely got something on top.
  14. Special Matte Laminate

Hmmm, I'm really not sure. I don't know much about hot lamination. However, the ones that seem to match the description of what I'm looking for say "for indoor and out". I think that in most cases, hot lamination is used more for indoor art applications where from the get go, you don't want any...
  15. Special Matte Laminate

Ok guys, I'm still on the hunt. Here is a better picture of what we are trying to achieve (the bottom sticker). After a little more research, I'm starting to wonder if what we are dealing with is a thermal laminate. Which would be why none of us have had much experience with it since I imagine...
  16. Special Matte Laminate

Thanks guys! I'm going to give the Avery lams a try. I've tried the Arlon 3420 matte and I'd say it's still not quite qhat we are looking for. But now I'm starting to wonder if it's something to do with latex printing. I'll let you know what I find out :|
  17. Special Matte Laminate

I just got off the phone with Oracal, and they think it is a type of silvering that I'm experiencing because the latex inks sit on the top more. So the matte no getting down into it everywhere is giving it the textured look. I recognize regular silvering, fresh out of the laminator, but this...
  18. Special Matte Laminate

Thanks guys. The attached picture should do a better job of describing what I'm going for. If you look at the top decal using Oracal 210M, you'll see it has a slight texture. And there's no silvering. The bottom decal has the effect I'm going for. Flat, but no texture.
  19. Special Matte Laminate

Thank you. When you look at it at an angle in the light, does it have a slight sparkle or texture to it? Trying to avoid that.
  20. Special Matte Laminate

Hey There! I'm looking for a matte laminate without any texture. Something completely smooth and almost waxy looking. We brought in Arlon's 3420 Satin and that is too glossy. And our Oracal 210M is too textured. We need something almost between a Satin and a Matte. Something completely smooth...
