  1. Need Help Smudge when print head changes direction

Clean the linear encoder with 99% isopropanol. From our years of printing experience, when we were running our Mimaki JV5's, we started spraying the front surface where the media travels (the post heated area) with anti-static spray. We found that the static buildup from the media was causing...
  2. Looking For Something Obscure

General Formulations has a photoluminescent vinyl option. You can purchase via LexJet. Also, VVivid offers a photoluminescent vinyl as well in 3 different colors. https://vvividshop.com/search?options%5Bunavailable_products%5D=show&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&q=glow*+in*+the*+dark* I have...
  3. Need Help Efi R3225

Best bet is to call EFI. It is hard to get their service manuals.
  4. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

I've ran this printer in 4C and 8C, and I can reach more colors in 8C mode. Maybe my eyes deceive me. How would they cost more to run?
  5. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

EFI Vutek Pro 32H. Immaculate machine. Never skips a beat. The Light CMYK makes the color gamut absolutely ridiculous. Jumping from the Pro 16H, we went from 30 minutes per 4' x 8' sheet when printing 8-Pass with White, to a little over 5 minutes, and you can print 2 up. You get a standalone...
  6. New HP Latex 700 and 800 series - with White ink

Oh yeah I know what white ink is good for. I use it all day every day. I suppose printing onto clear vinyl, then applying to clear acrylic is something I never thought of, just because I dove into that type of printing with a UV Hybrid. All in all, I see where you are coming from for sure!
  7. New HP Latex 700 and 800 series - with White ink

Just wondering how many of you actually have the need for White Ink prints (excluding sheet goods)
  8. Best use for a laminator

I've got to ask... Did you not calculate ROI prior to acquiring the piece of equipment?
  9. what causes these little drips?

Might be wise to add a humidifier to fight against static during the winter. You can also try anti-static wipes or fabric softener wipes also do the trick!
  10. what causes these little drips?

For sure. Guess we will see once OP updates! :)
  11. what causes these little drips?

Looks like he has checked around the bottom of the carriage for any fibers, based on his messages from earlier. OP, can you show us a picture of your capping station with the carriage out?
  12. what causes these little drips?

Sounds like it could be static related or check your damper for leaks.
  13. Do any of you use HP branded vinyl?

Is yours manufactured in the USA? If not, then I will have to pass.
  14. Do any of you use HP branded vinyl?

I use HP media daily. I've been using it for years and have no issues with the quality at all. I've probably printed 250 rolls of the HP Prime Matte Air GP in 2020. This is my GO TO. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.
  15. Mimaki DX5 used printhead needed

I’ve got tons. Shoot me an email; info@pro-graphx.com
  16. Floor digital vinyl no lamination

DryTac SPOW54098 is an R11 rated anti slip vinyl that requires NO lamination. I printed one on my Vutek and stuck it in the middle of the warehouse. After 2 weeks of pallet jacks, forklifts and foot traffic. Still stuck to the concrete, still legible, still anti slip.
  17. Need Help How to determine the right heat setting on Latex 560?

Do you mean 3621? I've never heard of 3612. I've printed a full roll of 3621 without issue on my 570. Just had to make a custom profile. It's a monomeric film so it does not like heat. I can help you if you'd like.
  18. UV Printing on DiBond

I’ve tried a few brands of ACM, including importing 400 panels from 2 different Chinese manufacturers. After dealing with inconsistent ink adhesion, even with promoters, I calculated all of the time and wasted materials and switched to Grimco’s MaxMetalDP. Peel the liner off, which takes about 2...
