  1. Issues with 3m 180mc

I have used many rolls of the 180 along the past years, from their original one, then the v2, v3 w/o any problem. During Holidays, I received their lastest version, marketed to be even easier to apply, so I was excited and can't wait to try it on a job. I printed a graphic kit (like 3D...
  2. Issues with 3m 180mc

When I remove graphics, I charge by the hour (75$) so if it takes longer, I don't care. The customer is advised upfront and always have the choice to remove it itself if he thinks it's too expensive that way.
  3. Issues with 3m 180mc

I read the description and noticed it but I never have to "un-wrap" a car in order to "re-wrap" it with a new skin so I don't really care to be honest... I want it to print nice & smooth as the roll of 180 always performed in the past... I don't know what they changed in the formula but if...

  7. Issues with 3m 180mc

Here's how another roll of 3M prints... I had IJ39 in stock so 'gave it a try. Smooth and solid as expected. I called my supplier and they opened a claim. There's a roll of IJ180Cv3 on the way *max zoom on my iPhone... texture in colors are pixels
  8. Issues with 3m 180mc

All my rolls are kept in upright position, always in their OEM poly bag, printer is on the mezzanine, far far away from installation bay, sits on anti-static mats in my print room... I've put all the chances on my side for a while... All other films print fine...
  9. Issues with 3m 180mc

It's my 1st roll of new mC version and colors are not solid... they have white tinny dots everywhere. Previous roll (cV3) with same profile printed nicely. Here's what it looks like...

  11. Different CMYK values for one Pantone-color

I use a profile that leaves intact my CMYK formulas. When I send a 100% yellow or 100% cyan, there's not a tinny drop of magenta in it. BUT. I'm not telling you my output colors match the Pantone book perfectly. And as I'm picky for colors, YES I spend some times of proofing before printing...

  13. Colors in Photoshop

Why not printing a color chart (in RGB & CMYK) and pin it on the wall. This way you can evaluate yourself what is a good red / green / blue to YOUR eyes. Than if you like this red's rendering, pick the color under the sample and assign it to your file. I have many here in my shop, printed...

I'm facing similar issue here with a roll of 3M IJ180mC (the new one). Same file printed with same profile on the last feet of my previous roll of 3M IJ180cV3 comes out perfect, new one has grainy look. Basically it's the very same vinyl, just a different adhesive pattern...
