    I would try cutting out of another program. It might not be your cutter at all. Download the free trial for Co-Cut... or download your cutter driver for Corel Draw. See if it will cut decently then. Maybe that will give you an idea if it is a hardware problem or a software problem.

    Encoder strip is clean and no debris dragging from the print head... Static raises an interesting question. Seems like static has been really bad in my shop lately. Any suggestions how to get rid of it?

    Overspray might not be the right word... the edges are crisp. there are just streaks of black as if a nozzle is not shutting off or something.

    Has anybody had trouble with the plotter knife in their SP-540 skipping? Mine has started leaving about 1/8" long skips. Most often in tight corners. Its like it might be riding up on the media. Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks

    I have used PHPBB several times. It is easy to set up and I have hosted it on 1and1.com. For simplicity check out groups.yahoo.com I used that for a while with some friends of mine and it worked great. Took all of 5 minutes to set up.

    Wow! is that with a SP540 or one of the faster models? That is faster then advertised even! Also I noticed you use Wasatch SoftRip 6.0, do you like it a lot better then Versaworks? Do you need that to get those fast speeds? Thanks for the comments!
