I think I may have finally wore my boss down. Which devices do you have, and which would you suggest? I was planning on building the profiles in Onyx rather than third party.

It's connected via USB. Why they didn't put a gigabit ethernet port on the Summa is beyond me. According to a tech guy we hired, the USB connection is just fast enough for the camera, an that the 10/100 (?) ethernet on the Summa isn't fast enough. The time-out I was referring to is when...

FrankW, We're running Onyx12, soon Onyx18. Trying to work out the kinks with the S2T before I get the barcode server up and running. Having timeout issues with the Summa and/or the Summa cutter control which runs the camera.

Are you able to print multiple jobs, and once setting up the first job to cut, it will automatically continue through the remaining jobs on its own?

So we finally got our new plotter set up and running. But I'm trying to find if anyone has any experience with Onyx Cutserver and Summa Barcode Scanner. We were told by our sales rep from Grimco that we could use the barcode scanner on the Summa, but now I'm finding out that it won't work...

Take a look at the S60600. We have had 2 S30670's for ~6 or 7 years, and theyve been great. We added an S60 a little over a year ago, and its has been superb. The print speeds are ridiculous

Have you tried orienting the barcodes so they are left to right? Might help with keeping the lines thinner. Have you tried running the printer using only 1 set of print heads? What about uni-directional? When was the last time you did a printhead alignment? Couldn't hurt. I'm guessing...

Yeah, Tell me about it!. I started with the 3M IJ40 profile, and adjusted from there. Are you using Onyx? If so, I can send you my builds to use as a starting point. I'm still waiting for my boss to buy an x-rite. One day.....I hope

I second the MacTac Streetrap. We have used it with General Formulations Concept 109 laminate.

The 60600 Changed the layout of my day. Stupidly fast. The take up system is leaps and bounds ahead of the older style on the S30.

If anyone has the program for the S60600, that'd be great. I don't need it, but never hurts to have it.

We have 2 S30's and got an S60 about 3 months ago. The smell from the S60 is a bit stronger than the S30's, but after a week of using it, it's not as noticeable. The printer is profiled differently than the S30, so you will definitely need some color management. It prints amazing however...

As far as your prints looking grainy, that's going to be more a feature of Onyx. We used to use Wasatch, and when we switched to Onyx11, I noticed the noise in the prints, especially when printing solid colors. As far as the speed of printing, when we ran our S30's on USB, we had the same...

Sounds like you need to calibrate the material you're running. You could also try reducing the tension on the media. Also, try cleaning the grit roller in the printer. If a lot of paper fibers get stuck in the "abrasive" section, that could cause slipping when its feeding medaia

What are you doing to your printers? Just had the original head replaced on one of our S30's, he other one has the original print head that's ~4 years old.
