Just saw this thread. We don't have an S70, but one of our S30's started leaking Cyan in the ink by. Apparently one of the hoses decided to develop a leak, or one of the hose connectors decided to let go. We were luckily under warranty, and Decision One had to come out, replace the ink...

What are the production dates on the ink you're having issues with?

try printing with a mate vinyl profile. Many times they lay down less ink than gloss vinyl print, or change your head movement to printe rwidth instead of data width

My guess is one or more of the following: Ink got into the raising and lowering mechanism, and dried into a sludge something got stuck in the gears, and caused it to overextend How old is your printer, has the capping station been replaced yet? I couldn't remember if the screw...

There is a screw that can be turned to raise or lower the capping station....I can't remember where it is, but if you cll Epson and ask them....tell them that your power went out, and you need to manually set the capping station. If I hear anything from my sources, I'll reply again

We have used phototex with great results. If the wall mural is i a high traffic area, we have used IJ-40 with the 8510 laminate

What about printing the entire image on MacTac frosted in reverse, applying that to the acrylic, then wet applying a contour cut white piece by hand?

Have you tried calling Epson and getting them to send you the file?

Call Epson and ask if they've been having problems with the Magenta Ink formulation. On our first S30, when Epson was having issues with the Black ink, only the B2 head would die, not the B1. Call and push the issue until you get answers. How out of warranty are you?

I have also noticed that Onyx has more "noise" in he prints than Wasatch does. It's just a mater of their RIP engines. As for the other comments bout CMYK only printers.....the chances of you hitting the orange nd green colors and having them "pop" enough is slim to none. Have you tried...

The ink estimator has to be a joke....We do a ton of backlit prints on Illumisol for a customer. I ripped a file and go the ink usage, it came up with $0.51 per print...when I change the file to double strike printing, it still shows up at $0.51 per print......how does using twice as much ink...

If you haven't tried it yet, give the Mactac JJ5999MBF. Stuff is amazing for clear vinyl, I print on it using he IJ180 profile, and i prints beautifully. Also has a bubble free adhesive. Once printed,, and applied, I haven't had a customer say anything about "the adhesive crosshatch" pattern.

I usually use the 3M IJ180 rip setting. I haven't had problems with anything rubbing, however, you could try turning off your pre-heater, and lower your platen heater to 35 or so, then have your drying heater turned up to your usual temp.

Is the carriage moving data width, or full printer width, that could buy you a little more time for drying?

If you're seeing pinch roller marks, try loading the media and letting the media coming up to temp. Just before printing, advance the media by about 6 inches, then start printing. When I print on banner, I set the pre-heater to 0 degrees, the platen heater to 30 degrees, and the drying...

We have an older copy we downloaded from somewhere many moons ago, but it is the older Pantone colors, and doesn't have the newer colors. I'm looking for one also.

Which RIP are you running? In Onyx 11, right click on the job, edit, printer settings, in the upper right of the grey box..... Make sure you're using the correct profile in your RIP, and use RIP settings when selecting the media on the printer
