The older your machine gets, the more frequent you should be doing additional maintenance.
It's always good to get some new parts in there such as cap tops, blade holder, mist pad, maybe even a new damper. Couldnt hurt!
It's the first weekend in December

TyrrellTech will be front and center right by Roland. Stop on by!
I hate to say this but being both on the sales end AND the service end..When it comes to the Rolands we service, about 90%..yes 90% of all issues and service calls we face are due to lack of maintenance. I will, however, play devil's advocate and say out of those calls, there are a large number...
Here are some things to look out for and some questions..
-What type of ink is in the machine? Roland? 3rd Party?
-Have you checked to make sure the heads are capped properly?
-If you were to pour solution into the capping station does it drain down or just sit there?
-Have you ever pulled...
Similar. With the roll to roll option and the take up reel, it didnt take a long time for us to figure out how to do it. The trick is lining it up properly so that A) you arent missing the substrate you want to print on and B) making sure it doesnt get jammed up for improper setup.
We have...
I actually think the print quality of the RS is fantastic, especially for a 4 color. I'm running samples today on Roland's new Glossy Backlit Film on the RS Series. Quality is excellent and I actually prefer the media handling system as well as the pinch roller setup on this unit.
Of course...
And so the revolution begins....thank you Gino
They come to me yes, and it isnt our fault. We get blamed sure but unfortunately if they are coming to us, one needs to step back and ask why??
I dont know when we started believing cheap materials, cheap inks, cheap printers would all lead to HIGH...
This is all rapidly falling into a "sad but true" scenario I'm afraid. It happens on every aspect of the industry, and unfortunately, unless you stick to your guns and stand behind the fact that you will be providing a product of higher quality, you'll lose out in the long run. The second you...
I agree Fatboy..it's always the machine's fault. If I could get commission on the amount of people who will swear by 3rd party inks until there is a problem I could retire by Christmas.
"But it's the same ink as the Roland" Thats the best line ever.
If I throw a BMW emblem on a Volkswagon...
Gee...so for months Proveer was the leader in ink pricing and wanted everyone to buy Roland ink..now since they are no longer a dealer, Roland ink is suddenly no bueno? Hmmmmmmmm Makes ya wonder..
Don't assume you will be fine. There have been some cases reported with issues of customers using Vworks with Windows Ultimate 7. Be sure you are logged in as an administrator when you are installing the program.
Jim,
The first line of your post says it all.."runs like a charm with doing the regular cleanings"
Here's the facts..we probably do more Service Calls in the NJ, PA, and NY area than any other dealer out here..We get more calls for NY customers which is funny because there are a couple of...
If you are referring to the LEJ-640, It's really going to depend on how much clear is in the artwork. It doesnt print at the same speeds as when it lays down CMYK. It only lays down the gloss where it's needed. Maximum speed on the print unit itself is 133sq ft per hour.
If you are printing...
