I bought the exact same printer just over a year ago and I couldn't be happier with it.
I too went with the 2x ss21 inks and the image quality seems just fantastic.
Make sure you vent the machine! It stinks!
Perhaps you have the same problem with both employees, you just don't see it.
It seems like you let one guy basically do whatever he wants and you're okay with it, but the designer does what he wants (playing with the computer) and you're not okay with it.
If I'm the designer and I see my...
I've never considered printing on laminate before. In what context/application would you want to print on laminate?
If I ever wanted to, would my Mimaki with solvent ink print on the Oracal 210 that I use?
Thanks!
Justin

So far so good! 0 receivables!
A customer of mine (a faith-based organization) is asking me to design a full vehicle wrap on a 2010 Chevrolet express 3500 15 passenger van. We've never designed a vehicle wrap, so our first instinct is to find a vector based vehicle template to use.
Does anyone have a recommendation for where...
At some point the magenta dots have to end and the black dots have to start. That's a big part of banding when printing.
An easy fix: In photoshop go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise and choose an amount somewhere between 1% - 5%. Make sure you also check the boxes for "Gaussian" and...
When putting the leaf of paper back in the machine, are you in print mode or cut mode when inserting the paper? You should be in cut mode, so after setting the pinch rollers, it automatically goes to mark detect mode and allows you to pinpoint where the first mark is.
The media size has to be...
+1 for Sintra. I use my hiker grommet machine with self piercing grommets and punch through the sintra easily without deforming it in any way. My grommet machine allows me to adjust for the depth of the material, which is why it works so well on the sintra board.
Downside to grommets: I've got...
I don't know if it's fabric or vinyl. The customer is remote to me, so I have to ask them questions, then they go back and get me the answers.
I feel comfortable with the idea that short of a heat press, this is a really difficult place to put a graphic, and nothing is going to last a "long...
Hi everyone,
I've been asked to do a project and I could really use some advice on whether or not I'm on the right track for this project.
This customer has a vinyl decal attached to their awning and it's peeling away. I had no part in the original image, so I don't know what it is or what...
It's definitely a sticky situation you're in! As a business owner who also produces what he designs, I can commiserate with you on this one. Here are my thoughts:
1) Figure out what you're losing in profit and make sure the price you charge for the designs compensates for lost revenue. You may...
My awesome staff. I couldn't do this without them.
In fact, it's getting to the point where they no longer need me at all to do their jobs. What a great feeling! More time to join impromptu jam sessions!
So there's nothing wrong with your machine, you're just afraid something may go wrong, so you're looking to go in debt and spend money you don't have, for something you don't need?
Why not ride out the 1204 till you have no options?
Why not save up more money and pay cash for a new printer...
