  1. Did i follow the right line?

The longest body line is your start for taping up the graphic, then always step back, look at the whole thing and adjust accordingly. Just because something is lined up perfectly with a ruler does not mean it is pleasing to the eye.
  2. Dark Window Vehicle Graphics

Re-design if needed to make the print cover the entire window, Use primer 94 around the window edges to help hold the print. The prints should be laminated, either perf or regular vinyl. Before you decide on what you will warranty, take a look at the manufacturers guidelines for the...
  3. what would you pay for this line drawing

You might want to take a look at what a print platemaker would charge for something like that. Not the same output, but a similar process as making line art for printing.
  4. Client emails that make you crazy!

On the one hand, I try to treat each customer the same, with the same amount of service, but on the other hand, how can I justify 5 emails with a customer over a single $135.00 banner, and another customer takes 2 emails to complete a purchase of 20 banners that cost $300.00 dollars each?
  5. MDO Finishing/Edging

    Take a look at www.proedgesystems.com It's what I use.
  6. Arthritis anyone???

I think I've stated this once before, but why are you asking for medical advice in a sign forum? You'll get 20 different opinions here if you ask how to lay vinyl, you know what I mean? Go to the doctor, then go to another doctor for a second opinion.
  7. Lost my job, what next?

Time for a vacation! At least that's the way I would think about it, take a few days to rest, get the old job out of your system, and re-focus yourself into being happy about what you do. Good luck!
  8. Roland sc-540 overspray/ streaking

The techs should have been able to confirm if the heads need replacement, either through shot count, or diagnostic testing.
  9. free AT&T rollover minutes

I've been using AT&T since back when they were AT&T. I once had a 1400 dollar cell phone bill, called customer service, together with myself and the rep, got online and found out that there are websites out there that you can enter a cell phone number for billing purposes. Someone used my...
  10. My logo- it needs an enema

Thanks for the ideas, everyone. 6 years ago I would have named it different to start with, "quick" implies cheap to me. I have been looking over Dan Antonellis' website, and Deaton Designs quite a bit for inspiration. Trying not to copy them is difficult.
  11. I'm sticking to my guns...right?!

You didn't lose them, you just qualified them. And they don't qualify your time.
  12. My logo- it needs an enema

    Thanks Jill!
  13. My logo- it needs an enema

So this is what it has been for the past 6 years. It's not really a logo, and 3 different fonts is getting on my nerves as well. I'm just kind of stuck with what to do to change things, I'm going to be needing to print new promotional materials, cards, brochures, etc... in the next few weeks...
  14. Your criteria for firing a customer

Criteria; Non-payment within a reasonable amount of time. Customers sense of self-importance outweighs the profit margin. Customer yells, screams, or acts ignorant on a recurring basis. Pretty much boils down to the fact that I can choose to do business with who I want to.
  15. Does this guy seem alittle odd?

Just a few quick thoughts. 50% deposit is the industry norm. You take the deposit in whatever payment the customer offers, cash, check, credit card,etc... Initial meeting at the coffee shop is fine, but after that you need to conduct business at your place of business, whether that is your...
  16. Triangle Ink Users

I've been using Triangle on my Rolands for over 4 years now. Awesome ink. I pay under $120.00 a liter. The pricing you pay is gonna vary, just like every other supply. Although someone did mess up and tell me accidentally the dealer cost is 80 per liter.
  17. Pancarama- yeah right

It's almost worth a phone call. Under 5k for a machine and shipping that costs 28k here in the states. Kind of like a lottery ticket in some odd way.
  18. Dialing in a color

Your best bet is to get your workflow properly profiled.
  19. When to pay commission?

That kind of order taking is usually covered by the Salary, if you pay salespeople salary + commission. Anyway, my definition of a commissioned sale is; Customer was developed by the sales person. All orders from that customer are paid to the original sales person. Doesn't matter if me...
