I swapped the cyan head with the yellow to get by ... the overspray issue is much less noticeable on yellow.
Before I did that I cleaned up the head by soaking and pulling solvent through - that reduces the overspray but wont fix it fully

I knackered a head (dx4) on my Mimaki. Messing about cleaning I got solvent on the Ribbon Cable which ran down to the head board. Nozzle print started to fade more and more until nothing.... sounds like you might have done the same
I have that cutter.. I don't have any trouble with the quality on heat transfer material - prob just need a new blade. The problems I usually get with the Mutoh is when it decides not to read the reg marks (bad epos)
Service manual with all the alignment procedures here...

...give your encoder strip a clean first though.....
Its looking like it's the Slider Board. I swapped magenta and cyan over at the slider board and the overspray issue moved to the Magenta head. It's just odd that after printing about 300mm of overspray the head starts working perfectly. And then runs fine all day...?
Thanks Mike for the help...
More weirdness........ Switched the printer on about 3 hrs ago and left it innactive. Just tried the same test print and the Overspray is massively reduced...?
I fitted a new Cyan head about 6 weeks ago. Alignment etc all seems good. The new head printed sharp and strong immediately.
Somewhere in the last few weeks I've been getting overspray from the Cyan head - Only when I first turn the printer on - (but the nozzle print is perfect)
If I run a few...
Ok so turns out they're the same apparently....next question:
The new heads have no ID on them.... The seller says it's not a problem
Can I just enter the Head ID from the old Head I am taking out.?
Hi,
Got a chance at some cheapish second hand heads. I'm on full Solvent ink, but these are down on the invoice as Eco Solvent Heads (DX4)-(M004372)
Are they the same part..?
Sorry if this Question has already been answered a thousand times on here...
I didn't realise there was a whole Maintenance Manual available, I had only looked at the Service Manual. Got it from here.. http://www.signs101.com/forums/showt...s-in-one-place
Thank You "GetCustomized" - I ran the alignment procedures and it worked!:omg: - Now to sort that overspray issue
