OK, This is the first time I have ever really had material not take ink properly. I'm printing on 60" rolls on my HP L26500. The center 40 inches or so print PERFECTLY, but the sides are mottled and you can see the ink is not being accepted well by the vinyl as it's beading up. What I did...

Hi, We have the capability to print 60" here but it's just two faces at 60x144" on white translucent. Something I'd rather job out than purchase the vinyl and laminate for the one job. Our 61" laminator is also a little fussy about 60" prints (we run 54" day to day). Can anyone here print...

IIRC, just the color change line. Source is reliable. Fellers also now states the following on their Arlon page: Please note all UPP colors on this page are discontinued and available while supplies last.

We got word last week that Arlon is now out of the game and has ceased production of all color change wrap vinyls. Does anyone here know the scope of what they are dropping product wise? Are they completely done? Will anyone be clearing out product at discount? Chime in if you have any info.

We have been running an HP L2600 for over two years now. I have never experienced an graininess at all. Colors are super smooth, and more vibrant than anything I output on a ecosol. I print at 10 pass and 600 DPI as a standard, FWIW.

Any suggestions from the morning crew?

Has anyone ever seen this, know where to find it? 60" wide, and about 12" tall Landlord specs says its called a Spanjar Economy line fixture??? Profile is triangular in shape and apparently it's meant to be an illuminated sign fixture. Help?

Seems to happen a lot around these parts. Mixing calendered lam over printed cast vinyl seems to be a factor from what we have seen out in the wild. Not sure if the brands are the same or different though

Super 77 is not an acrylate adhesive. It contains petroleum distillates and acetone, two things I would keep away from vinyl adhesive. It's more akin to a contact cement than anything acrylate.

Tried Bulldog, it's meant for paint and had ZERO effect on getting vinyl to stick better.

I mimicked the basic formulation of the Primer 94 found on it's MSDS. Their proportions are a trade secret, but if you have a few of the main components on hand, like xylene for the carrier and an acrylate adhesive as the active bonding agent, you can make a reasonable facsimile that works like...

Thanks for the responses everyone. I was able to "science" my own recipe that seems to work quite well for our purposes.

Plastic caps tucked in the end of corrugated metal on the side of a bus we are working on require a little extra tack.

Fresh out of the stuff...Is it available anywhere at retail? Anything off the shelf that I may be able to use in it's place? Homebrew recipe? Trying to get a wrap done over the weekend and it just plain requires an adhesion promoter. Any help would be great, Thanks!

That works great for a square or rectangle, and it's pretty much math 101 for signmaking. I'm talking being able to find the sqft of odd shapes, like a star for example.
