so, nothing lights on the large board above the one that is circled in the picture?
i will look in the morning, if i have a similar service manual at the office.
then i may have something more useful to say
the reason i asked, (having done a lot of this, over the years) is that getting a bad used part is not that unusual
getting a used part with the same type of defect (or yielding the same result) is more unusual
you could be plugging a good power supply into a bad system board
IN A VERY QUIET...
green/yellow is "hot ground" for ac line voltage
without looking at the machine, your "cold ground" (the one you won't get a shock when you touch it) might be a black wire, as well as the exterior metal surfaces of the machine [the ones that cabinet screws go into]
damonca21 mentioned a green...
the "faint zapping noise" you describe is probably the 12v or 5v supply trying to start, loaded down by a short.
when you power on, the main board is not generating a "power good signal

problem is, you are a brand new member. no reason for people to believe you actually HAVE a printhead

been a prime member since 2009 i think (bought a samsung color laser for home)
i have been trying to find a computer or server memory purchase NOT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A RETURN
my point being in 21 years, i don't think...
True, but it might be worth cleaning that rail, since i have seen many people oil or grease them, leaving enough residue to pick up dust and increase the drag on the carriage
you follow my thinking though.
i was wondering if the cyan in the line is thickened, OR if earlier prints had too much solids in them & what is in the lines, reaching the printhead is the residue, mostly solvent or carrier.
my mutoh MP31 inks need to be shaken daily.
