  1. Need Help Graphtec FC8600 - Cross Cut Blade Not Engaging

This is pretty simple - go into service mode by holding down the Fast + Enter buttons while you power it up. When you press the menu button, you'll see >ADJ. as on option. Press the right arrow. Down arrow twice should get you to the page with the C-Cutter POS ADJ. Press 2 to enter this mode...
  2. XC-540 Not Connected Troubleshooting

I would try uninstalling the printer from VW and reinstalling it. If you can't or that doesn't fix it, then I would initialize Versaworks - go to the Start Menu>Roland Versaworks>Initialize Application. This will basically reset the software to like "newly installed". I hope this helps...
  3. Onyx 12 and FC9000

It likely won't work with the older software. Barcode won't work for sure. You can generally do cut only with older drivers, but when the computer needs to "hear back" from the plotter - as in reading crop marks or bar codes - you have to have the driver specific to that model of plotter...
  4. Contour cutting Magnetic

You'll only be able to do small batches this way. Cut your job up into 2 foot sections or so and don't try to pull this material off the roll - run it as separate sheets. If you're going to try to do any kind of quantities, either sub it out or get the flat bed plotter as recommended above.
  5. Bar Code missing Part

So, is the plug in adding the barcode and you're cutting from the plugin? Or is Onyx adding the barcode and you're cutting from Cut Server? Have you tried to use the other system? Good Luck
  6. Roland SP540 Rebuilt Need Help!

Did you use OEM parts? or third party parts?
  7. Ronan: Japan Color VS Aquacoat

Luis, if you're new and uninformed, why are you deciding to limit yourself to Ronan paints. Johnny has a lot of experience and if you're looking to grow in this business, you really shouldn't dismiss his (or anyone's who's been doing this for some time) advice. If you came here to learn, you...
  8. Can you do cut through with kiss cut knife?

It would depend on the vinyl/lam combo that you're trying to cut. Most of the time I train customers to just use the CB09 blade for both kiss cut and perf cut. You can do both either over the cut strip or the pounce channel.
  9. cheap flatbed plotters

Take a look at Graphtec's FCX series. It should do what you need. https://www.graphtecamerica.com/cutting-plotter-flatbed-cutter-fcx2000
  10. color loss in prints-Verscamm

Can you post a picture of the nozzle test print?
  11. Getting colours right

You have to make sure that "Convert Spot Color" is checked on the File Format tab of the plotter defaults for the spot colors to work. You also have to have the chart printed on the same material that you're using for production and finally make sure that you're using the same profile that is...
  12. Out of Gamut Problems

Did you change media, or get a new roll of the same media? It could be a bad batch??
  13. what causes these little drips?

Are there pets in your shop? Or are you losing your hair? I see hairs from people/animals cause this quite often as well. Pretty much any fiber that hangs on the bottom of the printhead will wick ink away from a nozzle or two and cause these drips. Good Luck
  14. Need Help How to square up a Roland VG2-540

I measure it this way... Cut about 4 inches off of a 54" roll of vinyl. Make a loop at one end large enough to go over an empty core and mount the core on your roll holder. Feed the other end up through the printer near the control panel end and mark where it crosses the edge of the platen...
  15. Need Help SG-540 Cutting Issues

Something is loose. Does the knife holder feel solid? Can you wiggle it? Is your media slipping at all? Is there any play in the cut carriage?
  16. HP 365 - Not made for traffic reflective printing? (also, need printer suggestions)

Unfortunately, I think this is just a lazy tech answer. We have quite a few customers that primarily print on reflective and only do street/highway signage and have no problems. Also, most of them are using the manual load as the sensor rarely measures correctly. When I train them I just tell...
  17. Gerber Edge Fx service in Southern California

If I take my truck into the dealership because it isn't running right, they charge me to look at it. I don't remember what it was last time, but probably around $75. If you don't want to pay for expert advice, why don't you post the symptoms here rather than complain about someone else's...
  18. Larger targets when creating ICC profile

First off, you need to wait till your ink is dry before scanning. If that takes too long, you need to revisit the ink restrictions and ink limits or possibly your printer temperature settings. The software will make the swatches that the device calls for. What spectro are you using? Do you...
  19. Question Roland XR-640 print quality - horizontal line

Does that happen across the printer or running down the media?
  20. Oversized pinch rollers for VS printers ?

The printer is designed for one size of roller. The outter rollers are tapered and should be installed with the dot to the outside. The inner rollers are flat, so there is no orientation issue there. Get new rollers, clean the grit wheels and load a roll of media. Here's how I test this -...
