  1. How to design perfect template/outline/vector

+1 i take a photo with the tape measure next to the object. then scale based on the "real" measure and draw in illustrator. Generally, i have a few steps before, since i take templates off uneven surfaces (motorcycle fairings) I use clear transfertape and mark the shape with a sharpie. Then...
  2. Irritating website issue

no trouble here either. ask them to forward you back the email and check from there. i bet you the link is broken in half and their search engine provider makes the best guess... like www.visual- images-signs.com and their email program is too dumb to put it together and sends them to...

  6. Graphtec FC8000-160 won't cut accurately

what do you use to cut? when i cut from cutting master 2 (from illustrator) i have to adjust the offset by (in my case) 0.02 on the x axis and then it's perfect. did you try that?
  7. Ever noticed this messed up national logo?

Yeah, I can never again look at their truck and not see it! It will be the same with Lowe's! maybe it was one of those neighbor's kid redid the logo. he did a bad job, but it was accepted. ever since, designers never dared to change it because they thought there's some history to it :Big Laugh

front page looks clean. that is great!!!! no marquee jumping jacks. awesome!! um, yeah! your page is made up of images. search engines are not too good at reading text from the images just yet. Stay away from bold paragraphs. Bold is meant to emphasize a word, not a whole content. (like the...

  15. Printing Gradients .ai

Thank you! This particular file is in CMYK, but good idea to investigate each color. I tried yesterday by adding more shades to the gradient, but it didn't help. I will try the .tiff version as well!! Thanks again, t.
  16. Printing Gradients .ai

Hi, I am new to printing (well, i got 2 months experience and a nice wall of shame, but it's going pretty good), but i've been cutting vinyl for a couple of years. I use Illustrator for most of my work (stickers, decals, etc) and use PhotoPrint10 to rip and send to my Mutoh 1324. I can not...
  17. Help with Perf cut on Graphtech FC-7000

Hi, i watched Graphtec's video, and I can get it to perf cut my laminated printed vinyl, BUT the cut looks very rough. I'm using the cutting master 2 plugin for illustrator. I read that people put transfer tape on the back and cut thru (not perf pattern) but i'm not sure i understand it right...

  20. Mutoh VJ 1324 VS Roland VS540

That is great information! Thank you. I was wondering about the print head. Excellent article, Andrew and it answers those questions for me. I really really wanted the setup with white, but my work load is so little that i can't justify wasting the white ink, and never realized it's a set...
