I am still printing on both water based and solvent with the same brand of printer and did another test on canvas for both printers.
I had originally done testing with Mac7 canvas on both printers and the water based was way ahead.
Since then I tried Sihl Picasso and it was not bad on the...
Not 100% sure this was the right way to fix this but when you do flatten and rasterize there is a box with "Preserve Spot Colors".
Do not have this checked. I was having the same issues and this fixed it for me.
May create issues for cut files but for just printing it was ok.
If its their anti vandal media then that stuff is almost optically clear and I wondered also about using it on perf. Issue is that I don't think its cast and it might shrink on the perf.
Good stuff. I can't wait to dabble in the HDU area. Got some samples on order.
Funny how the photo makes the one area of the bead look embossed but yet the other side engraved.
I will be watching as well for feedback on how to finish it properly.
I can use cheap refill carts on my old CJ so no chip is required and no need to worry about that part of it. I am thinking of running the refill carts (even if using Roland's inks) and just drain the bags into the refill carts.
This would solve any pressure issue that ever could occur...
You may be able to answer this. To Castek Resources
Both captops would have had to have the same thing happen at the same time in order for both heads to drain the ink on all 4 carts.... correct? Does that happen often for both to do it at the same time? Could one side (captop) effect the...
Most times its the captop filters that swell up and touch the underside of the heads and starts a siphon. Most times it would stay to one side or one head.
A drain line too deep into the drain bottle and if it touches the waste fluid it will siphon out.
Was it real hot in there over...
I have never worked on the newer Rolands but if its anything like the old CJ, you need to take care removing a damper by pulling straight up and not rocking side to side or you can crack the nib the damper sits over. The o ring in the damper can be tight to get off the head so you need to use...
Last option may be to remove the damper (should be easier than a head) and use an old damper that you can fill with cleaning solution and put in place. Run a cleaning cycle once or twice to let the head charge with cleaning solution. Let sit a while. I am not sure if doing a test print would...
An easier option would be to first make sure your drain lines are clear and doing what they need to be able to do, draw ink through the heads.
Then just try to fill the captops with some cleaning fluid and reset the heads onto them. The cleaning solution touching the heads will draw into them...
There are times when you can get an air bubble in the main line and it (for me anyway) has caused the head not to be able to recharge. Might have just enough resistance in the line to try to draw backwards from the damper and not let the head charge.
If you have removed the cyan cart and reset...
The things that go onto the end of your media would be the flanges. There was a post about making some. I like to use them always, although on the full rolls of heavy media, like banner material, the flanges would not stay on and would fall off due to the heavy weight. I ended up putting a hole...
On my CJ 500 I tend not to use the middle roller and mainly just use the two outside rollers for most all I print. The odd time for a banner I need to use the middle roller to help with the feed.
Only other work around for decals and such where you can plan your layout so that the middle...
If you are wondering about just using a clear laminate to print on and then put onto the translucent lexan, I think you will see that it is washed out when lit. It may look ok in the day but when lit fade out. If you try to double up on the clear layers to make it look better lit, that may work...
Thanks for the reply.
I may order a drum to have on hand and will try to remove the old drum and do as you say, gently shake, and see if it helps. I may wait till the new drum arrives just in case I do something to the old one and make it worse.
Does anyone know much on desk top laser printers?
I have a Dell 2150cn laser printer that I have run through only a few thousands sheets and the cyan has a fade that starts 1 1/2" in on the left and runs about 1 1/2" more before it is back to normal. Black has the same fade. Mag and Yellow...
