I can trick it sometimes by adjusting "space between copies." Make that distance a little smaller, maybe it will allow the 11x17 to fit. I WISH Onyx allowed more manual adjustment like VersaWorks does.

I wouldn't attempt something that long on my Graphtec. I love it, but max I would attempt is MAYBE 20 ft.

I have tried creating the registration marks before, being as precise with measurements as I possibly could, but it has always been off just enough to throw everything off. Might work if you're printing/cutting something fairly large where precision isn't as important. I really wish it worked! ;-)

A dumb thing to check... make sure your hold-down bar is in the lowered position on the back of the plotter.

I will definitely be getting one of the special tools for myself. I've done it several times with just needlenose pliers and screwdriver, as suggested, but it took me a lot longer than it should have and was very frustrating.

I also stop the take-up roller on the front (push back the bar and turn off the switch) when I detach the end of the vinyl from the roll in the back (we have an 80600), so it's not feeling any tension from either front or back. And cover up the sensor ;-)

UPDATE: Problem solved! Tech replaced Cut Carriage Board and cleaned something...the encoder strip? We're back to cutting laminated vinyl perfectly with one pass at pressure of 70. Also switched to a 60 degree "sandblast" blade since the laminate we use is pretty thick.
