We always overlap a small amount because of the shrinkage possibility. I don't think it looks too bad. We also do some with vinyl logo or whatever applied on top of the perf. Problem with that is, of course, it cancels out the see-throughness of the perf.

I would measure the difference in margins and then manually advance the sheet that much after each print before sheet cutting. You could make a mark (with tape maybe) on the printer so you don't have to measure each time. On my Roland, a different model, I have to hit the "Base Point" button...

Haven't thought much about extra ventilation in our printing room until now...we've started using some particularly smelly vinyl that, when heated by the printer, is giving me headaches. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Did you try cutting with "advance after plot" checked? Sounds like that's what you're wanting it to do. I may be misunderstanding, however.

Our Roland XC-540 probably needs a new yellow printhead, but we can't get service on it until mid-month. Does anyone think I will do any further harm to it by continuing to print things that don't require any yellow? I have tried it with some decals that use only 100% black, and they print fine...

Don't know how the price compares to other sites, but we've been using imageclub10 and love it! It has a lot of sign/vehicle-specific artwork.

We use the leftover laminate backing paper after using up a roll of laminate. Won't work, of course, if your lam has a plastic film backing.

This is what I found to fix the same problem: Very simple. Worked for me!

We just had to do it for the first time...had to cut individual letters in a black perf vinyl that supposedly will look black in the daytime and white at night when backlit (I'm a little dubious), but anyway it helped a lot to laminate the vinyl first so the blade has a smooth surface to cut...

Not much help, but...you definitely shouldn't be having air pockets/bubbles-at least not a lot of them. Something must not be set right. If you could post some photos, it might be easier to tell what's going on.

Wider blank margins help, like at least an inch each side, because you're never going to get it perfectly square, in my opinion. But if you do your best to square it up, and leave yourself a little "margin for error," you should be ok!
