  1. Rips resampling images?

Fair assumption based on the information you have. You only see the banding when you put a piece of optical plastic over an interlaced print - its not visible otherwise. Its a difference between the actual DPI of the machine and the LPI (lenticules per inch) of the optical plastic.
  2. Rips resampling images?

You think Onyx is using the manufacturer value of 601.183 but only displaying 601. Could be. And I had the same feeling about the imperial vs metric thing. Regardless when I do a test by printing a ronchi ruling in two different places on the bed I get the same banding which I am being told...
  3. Rips resampling images?

Interesting. So it lists the resolution as 601 not 601.183 so I would need to find the difference between those two numbers and use that to adjust the scale? So I would be looking for a value of 100.0304 it seems. Is that what you were imagining?
  4. Rips resampling images?

Yes, in fine art mode the Arizona's print at 445.614x601.183
  5. Rips resampling images?

Does onyx thrive resample source images? I have a particular application where I need as much 1:1 as possible between a pixel based image saved at 601.183 ppi and the printed output and it appears onyx is resampling based on the banding I am seeing. Seems strange that it would resample so...
  6. Things you can do with an OCE service key

    Excellent, thank you!
  7. Things you can do with an OCE service key

Curious to hear useful features for the technical lay-person. Obviously there is a lot you do not ever want to touch and would have no reason to. Currently I have a need to turn off specific heads for the purpose of trouble shooting something, can this be done through the service menu?
  8. Oce 257 white ink curing

24 hours seemed to have offered some improvement in adhesion and hardness but it is still softer than the colors. Its a multi-layer flood white, perhaps that is an unfair comparison with a single layer color image. A 1:1 test is probably the next logical step.
  9. Oce 257 white ink curing

Thanks for the replies. It is both an adhesion issue and softness. To be fair I made this observation right after printing and jumped on the forum as I was having the problem yesterday, I will be back in the shop today (24 hours later) to report if there is a difference. I have increased the...
  10. Oce 257 white ink curing

Can you expect white ink to cure to the same hardness as the rest of the color inkset? I am using OEM 257 inks for all colors currently except for white where I am using a 3rd party ink but I am finding that it remains soft while everything else seems to cure just fine. Wondering if that is just...
  11. Constant or use based humidification

Thanks for the perspectives. I am using an ultrasonic humidifier with some extensions of 4" PVC and it seems to work well though the humidity is definitely more localized to the area around the unit. I think the plan is to move it closer to the machine and leave it run all the time based on feedback
  12. Constant or use based humidification

Those of you who control humidity do you keep your space to a constant % all the time or do you turn it off when you are not there? I guess its a question of how long it takes humidity to reduce static.
  13. Assign spot color to lc, lm

Yes, preparing for the possibility I might need to manually align the print heads. I have Thrive 19 so I suspect color replacement is a feature but its new to me so I haven't seen it yet. If you have Onyx care to share a screen cap of what you are looking at when you see this Solventinkjet?
  14. Assign spot color to lc, lm

Ok great, this gives me some stuff to work with, appreciate it!
  15. Assign spot color to lc, lm

So you should be able to assign spot colors to CMYK so that you could jet a pure line of cyan for example, but how would you do that for lc or lm on a 6 color printer? And do you print it without a profile or how does that effect things? The desire is to print a hairline using 100% of each color...
  16. 257 inkset profiles

    Thanks Pauly!
  17. 257 inkset profiles

Prepared to create custom profiles, just trying to get a new machine up and running quickly for some tests.
  18. 257 inkset profiles

Prepared to create (or have created) custom profiles but doesn't Canon have a set of profiles for the 2280 using 257 inkset? Don't flame me for asking about profiles, I was told these existed but no search is turning them up.
  19. Oce Arizona Fixed drop size

Amazing info here thanks for the responses
  20. Oce Arizona Fixed drop size

Is it possible to constrain a Oce Arizona to only use a fixed drop size of 7pl? I know having varied drop sizes can in many circumstances be preferable but I have a test I would like to make if it can be done. Would you expect this to be a printer level adjustment or something in the RIP?
