I have had similar issues getting ink from Digi-Print. In fact it sounds exactly like the last ink order I placed with them. Now I just order from Ordway and pay the difference. It isn't worth the headache. Fortunately for me greasing the rail fixed my problem. Good luck with yours. Jeff

I spoke to Roland support today and they said that it isn't possible to add a second GX-640 to versaworks, because the driver names are the same. Has anyone had any luck getting two of them to work on one installation of Versaworks? I really don't want to run two different PC's. Jeff

I've got the same issue with my SP-540V. Did the Litho grease fix your problem?

The missing nozzles and deflections will both cause the light banding. It will appear as thin stripes in the black or dark prints. The deflections will also cause a fuzzy appearance to fine details. Jeff

Digiprint-supplies.com has the heads for $557.00 plus shipping and your Roland tech can install them for you. You can do it yourself but it isn't as easy as removing a few screws and installing the head. There is some alignment that had to be done from the service menu and turning some screws...

I am getting a really strange error in Versaworks for my GX-640. Everytime I try to cut a job, it says "Cover Open". If I click "try again" it cuts the job fine. Since the GX-640 doesn't have a cover, I'm not sure what this error means. Has anyone seen this before? Jeff

I just replaced a head that looked better than that one. Alignment would help the quality, but your fine black lines will be fuzzy and you could get some banding in black. It really depends on what you are printing and how picky you are. $800 for a new head. May be worth the risk if you can...

I was able to get this resolved. It was as simple as adjusting the blade guard. By setting it so that the blade couldn't cut any deeper than necessary, it resolved the issue reliably. I'm happy again. :) Jeff Chambliss stickertalk.com
