We have a new Fotoba Digitrim coming in this week. We always print, laminate, and cut our projects. We use an SP-540 to print, then we laminate, then use a GX-640 to cut. When we print with margin marks and crop marks, the GX is dead on accurate. However, when I print with fotoba lines and...
I have a GX-640 that I am having an issue with. Hopefully someone has seen this and knows the solution. Graphic Solutions Group told me that they don't work on GX-640's very often, so they didn't know what to do.
When it is cutting, it will cut deeper when the vinyl is rolling forward than it...
I am also looking at the HP 360 Latex printer. It is higher speed, but also a higher price. I really don't want to change our process, so I'm leaning toward the RF-640. Any other opinions?

We currently have an SP-540V and a GX-640 cutter. I am looking at upgrading the SP to the RF-640. I don't need the cut option since I have the GX. I am really interested in the speed. Does anyone have any experience with this machine? Is I as fast as h claims? Can you share your insights...
I've got one on order shipped via priority overnight. Hopefully it will be here Monday. I called roland tech support and they said that it was probably the cutting strip as well. I'll post the results once the new one comes in. Ordered a spare as well. Thanks for the help.

I have a Roland GX-640. I have recently started having an issue where my cutter cuts too deep on the side near the control panel and not deep enough everywhere else. If I increase the force enough to cut deep enough everywhere, then I cut all the way through near the control panel. The...
Finding the crop marks wasn't my issue. It always found them, it just didn't cut in the correct spot. Send me an email and I'll share what I have.

I finally got this fixed. There is a manual crop mark calibration in the service menu. I was able to correct the issue using it. Just thought I'd post in case someone else has the same problem.

I keep the SP-540 printing all the time, so in order to keep production up I bought the GX-640 to cut after we laminate. That way the SP can continue to print.
Good News! I figured out the problem. I was using the auto crop mark calibration on the GX to set it up. This made the test cut...
Ok. Thanks guys. Sounds like VW has more bells and whistles. I just can't figure out the calibration on this thing. I guess I'm going to have to call in an expert. The problem is they are 2 1/2 hours away, so I have to pay for 5 hours before they even look at it.

I recently purchased a GX-640 to pair with my SP-540V. Curretly I use Versaworks. I print on the SP-540, then laminate, then cut on the GX-640. The problem is that the cut lines aren't exactly where they should be. I have gone through the calibrations on both machines and can't seem to get...
I still haven't figured this out. Anyone got any ideas? Even work arounds are ok by me. It seems so doable and would save a lot of babysitting time.

I am looking for a Fotoba Digitrim 64 or similar device. If you have one for sale or know someone who does, please give me a call or email.
Thanks,

Yes I do have it enabled, but I can't find anywhere in Versaworks to tell it to sheet cut after output. I have that setting for my SP but not the GX.
