I would spend no more than $150 on a video card for a production computer that won't be involved primarily for 3d graphics.
  2. Business Card Bashing!

Yup, leave it on the side of the logo, that'll also declutter the direct contact info.
  3. Business Card Bashing!

Kill the "owner" title. Remove the cell number. Is your email e.brandon@p3promotion.com or brandon@p3promotion.com ? Do you need your webiste listed three times(four if you count the email)?
  4. Need a fast way to cut off decals

You guys are so useful. There's a slitter/slicer that will make it easier to at least cut them lengthwise. It's a series of bladed on a couple of rollers and you pull the sheet through them. I've seen it mentioned on here a few times. Wish I could remember the name of it. =(
  5. Profile Question for use with Rolands

I use Adobe RGB profile for the document and try to keep everything under the SWOPv2 gamut.
  6. Getting Payment

Another thing that helps is when you call them for pickup. Just make sure you state the remaining balance is open and what the amount is.
  7. Used Client's Truck Wrap Graphics for Their Website.

Seems like an advertising company site and not a lawn care site.
  8. Getting Payment

I've had people start walking out saying "when can I pick it up" before even reaching for their wallet. lol As we finalize all the details, I break out the total "we need 50% to being work and the rest on delivery/completion". Easy enough to set the dialogue if you ask for it.
  9. Printing off track, Any tips?

First, Tighten up the roll. The feed the media and pull about two feet out from the front. Make sure the roll is still tight, Pull the media from the front center taught while holding the roll on the back so it doesn't keep unwinding. Then just line up the rollers and clamp down.
  10. I need to explain to a designer why we have trouble with certain colours

They probably tell the client what's possible and what's not, up front?
  11. newbie question about transparent base saving a doomed project...

I can get away with not curing plastisol inks if I encapsulate them in a polyurethane resin. There's proper way to do things.
  12. Ahhh ink may be keeping me from buying

    Get a shop.
  13. newbie question about transparent base saving a doomed project...

Are you not curing these shirts? Also, I did a quick search for "Speeball Process Yellow Ink" and all I get is an acrylic line made for paper/wood/etc. The yellow isn't sticking cause it isn't a plastisol ink.
  14. barrell wrap

That sounds like the right combo. Nobody that has posted has apparently tried to apply unlaminated prints.
  15. Dealing with a client that doesn't pay. What to do???

Send a bill with a letter stating next contact will be through lawyer for small claims court. Give it a few days. You'll most likely get paid. If not, then proceed with small claims court.
  16. Recent wrap

He's always talking about how the clients don't really know what they need only that they want what he can provide. edit: oh yeah only about his business life, not his personal. lol he's pretty much a douche in that regard.
  17. Recent wrap

I think Dan is really Don Draper.
  18. 1st real windows 7 complaint (minor)

The choice to not show thumbnails is an Adobe choice. Around version 7 they were having users having corrupted files which apparently stemmed from the thumbnail previews, so Adobe pulled the thumbnail dislpay.
  19. 1st real windows 7 complaint (minor)

Yea, that's bugging me too, but it's not really a windows 7 issue. I didn't like using bridge but I got use to it after time.
  20. Food Bank sign destroyed

I don't do dimensional signs, but shouldn't HDU signs be backed by something that won't snap easily? (aluminum sheet or something of that sort)?
