  1. Gandinnovations 1224 or Fujifilm Acuity Advance

KR3- It's amazing the amount if misinformation out there isn't it? As I speak (er, type), our 1224 has been running 18 hours a day since last thursday with almost no downtime inbetween. Such has been the story with our 1224 for nearly 2 years now. In that time, it has also been through a...
  2. Flatbed Printers

I'm not sure on the price of the nanojet. I saw it run at graphexpo in chicago and I wan't very impressed. The prints weren't much better than our 30pl (Spectra SE heads) 1224. There have been very few things that our 1224 couldn't print high enough resolution for, so I don't think the...
  3. Flatbed Printers

On the Gandinnovations Jeti flatbeds, you normally run the printer in a 6 color mode (CMYK+ Light Cyan & Light Magenta). However, you can choose to flush out the Lc & Lm ink channels and use them for white and/or clear inks. When you do this, however, you are sacrificing detail quality in your...

  6. trouble in paradise

You also might want to try cleaning the thermal head. You should have some cleaning pads. If not, you can use some rubbing alcohol and a lint free cloth. As Fred said, however, this is a common symptom of a poor foil/vinyl combination. You may also want to try changing your heat (darkness)...

  8. No more broken dongle...

Great idea, John. I broke my freakin Onyx dongle just last week and I had to pay $130 to have one overnighted to me. Plus, I lost a whole day of printing on one of my printers.
  9. New and I know just enough to....

Whomever sells you the printer generally is responsible for your initial training. Running the printer is only half (or less) of the path to good output, however. The RIP you choose is a key part of that. There are generally classes (seminars) you can attend for most RIPping softwares. Or...

I'll share what little I know; Great print quality. Extremely slow. Not sure about reliability/durability.

  12. Graphtec cutting inconsistencies

There may be a calibration procedure. Check the owner's manual or http://www.graphtecamerica.com/
  13. Graphtec cutting inconsistencies

I use a rivet brush to clean off the grit rollers on out FC-5100 every few weeks. Also, I use a lint free rag to wipe down the rails. These little maintainence procedures really seem to help keep it operating properly.

  16. Seiko Color Painter

FYI- HP did not buy the Seiko Infotech corporation. HP purchased rights for Seiko to manufacture the Colorpainter 64s and 104s and re-brand them as the HP 9000s and 10000s. Seiko Infotech, the manufacturer of these printers, is seperate from the Seiko-Epson portion of the Seiko Group. The...
  17. HP L65500 Latex Ink Printer

I saw it at GraphExpo last week. Print quality was pretty impressive, but with a totally new system, I'm worried about real world application of both the printer itself and the new ink. Anyone have any good insight into this one?
  18. May as well jump in!

  19. Flatbed Printers

I'm a bit confused due to your lack of punctuation. What are you trying to say? Down time is minimal. If it took you more than 1hr to change the bulbs, you're doing something wrong. Every machine requires maintenance and, obviously, the more you run per day, the shorter your maintenance...
  20. Flatbed Printers

I've run 4c and I didn't think it was bad, just gritty looking- considering you are printing for the proper end use. I'd never run POP stuff in 4c, but site signs, pump toppers, etc would be fine.
