I will be interested in how many responses you get on this post. I bet most people don't even know what Xante is. On that note I do know about the Xante. Can you post the config pages and a sample. Please use a magnifier and make sure the color is yellow and yellow only.
I know several great people that worked for Tekgraf/1110 color. I know they will bounce back strong. They are talented people and I hope some of them will move to Florida and work for my Dealership. There still seems to be the issue with the chips on the Mimaki carts. I have had several in the...
I couldn't agree with GE more. This has become a great forum of nothing. On that note, I think we are missing the big picture here. He says there are lots of printers in that price range and he can proove it. Maybe he should be selling these printers. I can't find one under $15k worth it weight...
I think the brand of the printer does make a difference, but the dealer makes an even bigger one. I sell and love the Mutoh, but highly suggest you interview the dealer first. Does the dealer have service technicians on staff or do they use a third party. What is there response time. How long of...
This is common with the new Mutoh and Mimaki 1 head and 1 cap system. The ink is wicking from one color to the other. Usually a lower volume cartridge gets contaminated. Check the bottom of the head is clean. Make sure there isn't a fiber on the nozzle part. Next would be the cap is hitting the...
Jack, I question the "Jim Hancock for offering me about three hours of his time over the phone for tech support." part. Where did you get the support from?
you can swap it out at 25%. Once you get to around 8-10% I suggest turning the machine off and pull the cart. If the cart is pulled after that, the card will be written empty. I have heard that there is a limit but that is with the machine on. I pull my carts all the time when I do a demo.
I agree withall of the above procedures. When the ink starts to drop, stop the print and inspect the bottom of the head. Is there a build up of ink, and where. I have also seen this caused by failing dampers. Inspect the damper. If it is full or looks like the filter is clogged, it is time for a...
You need to get the heat up for sure. Try 38-40. THe black limit will not help as much as you are thinking. Black is usually made from all 4 colors. You total ink limit might be too high. I would start with the heat.
I went to the website and watched the demo video. It looks impresive, but I think they are missing the boat here. They need to sell the speed upgrade they have on their machine.
I have had issues with using too many 0's in the fields of the Mutoh IP. I have had it happen after working with the IP for months. It must have something to do with the board they use. Have you tried to ping the printer? Since you say uou have 2 cards, try setting up a connection with an IP...
Kevin, I have to tell you that Randy is as helpful as onyone in the industry. You should keep him on your good side. He goes above and beyond helping the Mutoh and non Mutoh customers here.
As a dealer, I deal with the card issue first hand. I have have almost no defective cards. I do have...
They are reffering to the clear mylar strip that runs the length of the printer. It is attached to the top of the bar the heads rides on. This needs to be cleaned. Clean with a lint free cloth and iso alcohol. Do not use denatured as the strip is printed and will come off with denatured alcohol...
This randomness can also be caused by the pinch roller themselves. Look on the sides of the picnh rollers where the roller sticks through the frame. Look for a build up of rubber. This is from the end of the roller swelling up and rubbing on the side frame and cuaseing uneven feeding. If you cut...
I saw both configurations running at the Graphics of the Americas show. I can see why this would be a difficult decision on the ink set up. THe 8 color is very impressive and still fast. The 4x2 is smoking fast, and still very impressive prints. I would think the 100 is the way to go.
