  3. Does PVC Board warp inside a building?

If its a warehouse it's probably ribbed.
  4. Does PVC Board warp inside a building?

If its being mounted directly to the exterior curtain wall, I think they might warp at that size. I'd use ACM, throughbolt it, and leave about a 1/4" bigger hole for the bolt to account for expansion on the metal ribs. *edit And then sell him an exterior wall sign to cover up the nuts on the...
  5. Harsh reality. Hurricane Michael

Thanks from another Floridian. Once you guys have power in the area, prepare to be as busy as you've ever been, about 3-6 months after the storm.
  6. Digging a hole in a parking lot

Customer has a slab parking lot, and new pole sign is going in. We need a 36" x 36" hole cut through the slab, which customer will handle (supposedly). How best to dig the following hole?
  7. Designing for signs

Design/Build project - for a 15' tall multi-tenant. Put it together in about 30 mins - it's darts at a board, but the only info I got was A) name of building B) number of tenants and C) "as big as possible". IMO, 30 mins on a $20k+ project is a pretty good ROI of time. It shows off some skills...
  8. Question Sign Post Structure

You need to know what the existing foundation is - may be in archives somewhere, especially if that sign was built after Big K. If you find that, you may be able to use existing foundation and pole stump with boltplate for a taller pole. Feed them tat info and they should be able to spec pole...
  9. Question Sign Post Structure

Try Murdoch Engineering. It ain't gonna be cheap to build that... 27 cubic yards of concrete maybe
  10. Just getting started

Routers are badass, IF you know how to market your product. It will still take around 2-4 years for it to pay for itself, most likely. Market routing services to other sign shops within a 50 mile radius, cabinet makers, finish carpenters, etc. Sounds like you want a big toy to play with -...
  11. Cut vinyl on a football

I'd mask and paint, if possible. Mask would give you a good idea of how the final would turn out before painting.
  12. Mark My Words Media

If you have some more info on them, CCG, I'd be interested to hear. We're down about that way.
  13. Just In 10' Monument - New Project

Rick - Circle face has 2" retainer, with break about 1/3 of the way up. Means we only have to lift the face about 6" to pull it out. It's a heavy sumbish, especially with the pushthroughs tacked on. Seam was unavoidable, unfortunately. Couldn't get a brushed aluminum piece large enough.
  14. PVC Directory sign panels

I'd go nutserts... and use acrylic or ACM for the panels. PVC is gonna warp to hell and look bad.
  15. Just In 10' Monument - New Project

tubular aluminum frame with crossmembers, aluminum skin riveted on, then rivets are painted. This one was two pieces - base and then copper and circle topper. We direct mounted them to the two 4" steel poles on the interior.
  16. Just In 10' Monument - New Project

Just went up on Wednesday - 10' tall, 10' wide, with 76" circle. Pushthrough acrylic letters and logo, brushed aluminum face for blockout. Had to reduce the size of "apartment homes" to get it past our town's draconian permitting laws... at least to pass inspection.
  17. Needs more modern font

TL;DR What the OP needs is a little font called Papyrus.
  18. Need Help What In The World Happened Here!

Looks like installer might've melted the vinyl. I think the grid is the adhesive pattern, and it's all outta wonk.
  19. Font Help - FCAR

What the Font was What the Failing... again.
