Why not use Sintra instead of foamcore?

I only use one when I'm wet applying unmasked avery etch, 3m dusted crystal, or opaque vinyls. never even wanted to try it on premasked graphics, they have other blades tinters use that are stiffer that go into a unger window washing squeegee

How are you painting it? I would have base coated and clear coated. like an automotive finish out of a air gun sprayer. You can also get single stage automotive paints. but i always like base coat/clear coat.

Ive used a Wall Paper Steamer, cheap $40 wagner model. it has worked great on most, some stuff not as well, but it may just do the trick for you.
