Some kind of tension related problem with the feed is one of the working theories. We've tried not using the the take up reel, and have still seen the issue, but I haven't tried it loose on the other side. I'll give that a shot today. Thanks!

WOW. That's crazy. The profile I've been using is the Versaworks default, (Generic vinyl 1 v2). Is that what you mean by generic, or is that a standard roland profile? it doesn't have the word roland in it, like some that I've downloaded, but it did come with the program.

We've been having this issue on our Roland VG-540 for some time, and also with our new VG-2 pretty much right out the box. These big thick horizantal bands that will appear sometimes just once on a print, sometimes a few times, but always at a random spot. This issue comes and goes...

Thanks, I'll look into building some profiles. In the meantime, I have a bunch of downloaded profiles from rolanddga site (1 specific for each media we use) are there other places to get canned profiles?

We've been dealing with an issue with our Roland TrueVis VG-540 pretty much since we bought it. We can't get it to print a deep popping red. (pr42k). it always comes out an unattractive pinkish. Even when we print out the Roland Color Chart, it goes from dull copper to pink, with no firetruck...
