  1. The amount of memory required to use the RIP could not be secured.

Thanks! There's a couple big files in there still that are unfinished, but I deleted all the other old stuff and still can't get these new ones to rip past 1%. But if I grab another random large file, like a full vehicle wrap side, those will rip fine. It's just this one job with the layered...
  2. The amount of memory required to use the RIP could not be secured.

Versaworks 6 , Roland VG-2 My graphic designer just gave me these monster print files for a food truck wrap. The dimensions aren't more than one of our regular vehicle wrap jobs, but I guess it has of layers of glows or shadows or something, I don't really speak illustrator. In preferences I...

  4. Roland VG2 how to drain/refill the dampers (service mode)

Does anyone know the street fighter code to put the vg2 in service mode? I'm seeing some drippy symptoms that I remember resolving once by doing a damper flush. I had a tech on the phone who read me the button combo that time and I forgot to write it down. Thanks!
  5. Looking for laminator recommendation

Here's a video of me running some paper through the machine as a test before running these precious prints through it. I think I have a halfway decent grasp on the knob for the backing takeup, but I still have no idea how the knob for the upper supply shaft functions. In the video you can see...
  6. Stuck on a setup step w/ brand new Gfp laminator

Update: After getting stuck on some super basic steps, we have run some jobs through it and they look great. not comfortable with the machine yet though. These four clutch/brake knobs on the sides are completely new to me. Our old cheaper one didn't have any of that. Any tips on how those work...

Update: purchased the GFP 355th, and after getting stuck on some super basic steps, we have run some jobs through it and they look great. not comfortable with the machine yet though. 9. Stuck on a setup step w/ brand new Gfp laminator

The outside of the cradle rotates, but the opening of the inner part of the cradle where the groove sits is only wide enough to fit the tongue of the shaft in one way, perfectly lined up. It appears that the metal groove needs to be rotated until it lines up, but I'm not trying to force it...
  10. Stuck on a setup step w/ brand new Gfp laminator

Just assembled our new Gfp 350 TH. Super excited to start using it but currently stuck on a setup step. This could totally be a bonehead user error thing, many of these GFP components are new to me but I'm currently stumped. The groove doesn't line up with the opening of the cradle that the...

We got one! Stoked on the purchase, but stuck on a step, described below. any tips would be much appreciated
  12. Looking for laminator recommendation

UPDATE: We ended up going with the Gfp 350 TH. Super excited to start using it but currently stuck on a setup step. This could totally be a bonehead user error thing, many of these GFP components are new to me but I'm currently stumped. The groove doesn't line up with the opening of the cradle...
  13. Looking for laminator recommendation

Our old laminator has been here longer than I have. It seems to have no brand or manual, and it's starting to fall apart. It's the only one I've ever used, so I don't even know if when it was new, it was a nice expensive one or totally cheapo.. There's no heating element or air compression. I'm...
  14. Circle sticker issues

My StickerBrothers. I've been dealing with a similar issue on our VG-540. Many sticker/label cuts coming out misaligned, especially circles. I tried much of the stuff suggested in this thread before calling Roland himself, and using all pinch rollers helped a lot. Also the stuff people said...
  15. Circle sticker issues

Yes & no. I'm troubleshooting a similar issue on my VG-540. Mine is cutting everything wrong right now, but even when it was working, my calibrated printer could get away with cutting rectangles at a faster cutting speed than circles. When I try to do the circles at like 30, they come out...
  16. Circle sticker issues

My fourth pic indicates that, but the third picture seems to show I should adjust towards F +. They're from the same test. It prints one square on the left and one on the right. I guess the idea is to try to split the difference, but what does one do when the two sides suggest opposite adjustments?
  17. Circle sticker issues

I found this thread because I'm experiencing a similar issue. I'm going down the list of everything mentioned in this thread (thank everyone for sharing your insights) but I wanted to see if anyone recognizes this symptom . (Roland VG-540) when performing adjustments to the PRINT/CUT function...
  18. My VG-2 is dripping ink everywhere

Thanks Joe! Damper fill did the trick. no more drips and test prints looking good. Super appreciate it!
  19. My VG-2 is dripping ink everywhere

PICTURES BELOW A while ago I noticed drops of cyan ink on both of the media guides, and the surrounding area. Recently the drops have become pools, and it's getting on the media too. Right around when the issue went from "that's funny" to "this looks really bad" my nozzle test prints went south...
