  1. SC-545 ex not pulling any ink

The Fuses are labeled F1, F2, F3 and F4 (No fuse on the F4 space). Look on the oposite corner of the board from where the ribbon cables are connected. I think there is a silver plate and the fuses are located next to it. The silver plate is on the SC-545ex and SJ-1045ex board, not sure about...
  2. capping station

Try loosening the screws that secure the plate that hold the capping station, let the print carriage/heads seat the capping station. The air you hear when pulling ink is from not capping station not in it's correct position. My .02
  3. Roland soljet 2 pro leaking ink beneath capping station

Wipers look like they need replacement, this could explain why your not getting cleaned heads after running a cleaning cycle. As for the dripping....You cap tops could be swollen to the point that the caps are creating a wicking effect. You didn't mention if your on a bulk system, if so...
  4. need to use flexi 8.1 on 64 bit

You'll need to upgrade to 8.6. 8.1 should load up, but 8.1 production manager will not run on the 64 bit systems......oddly Flexi 7.1 will run on the 64 bit...go figure. My .02
  5. SP300 stops printing

Check your Main Ribbon Cable for kinks. If it's ok then servo board could have kicked the bucket. Do you get "pinchroller" errors when initializing, if so Cable is more than likely the culprit. My .02
  6. Flaxseed ???

I am under the impression that after the exp. date, the product becomes Fluxseed.
  7. Time to add an EPSON category?

Ink may be Green with the "new" latex, but they don't tell you your power consumption will be 2 to 3 times more. This is due to the higher heat needed to cure the latex inks. my .02
  8. How to connect SC-540 to Versaworks?

Versaworks will only drive the sc-540 with a upgrade, cost of the upgrade is around 1,000.00.
  9. Versaworks reinstalled, no cutlines now! HELP PLEASE

After re-install of Versaworks did you set your eps margins and check the spot color box? It's the 3rd tab down in Que A or Que B folder properties? my .02
  10. Roland SP-540V - contour-cutting off

Check the pinchrollers, They can wear out from use, or if they have run over wet prints, the ink will expand the roller and you will get media shifting/skewing and cause ur cuts to be off. my. 02
  11. Roland VP-540i or Mimaki CJV-130

The CJV is a little faster printing, but the time you'll wait for the machine to turn on/off the pinchrollers negates the faster printing time. In other words the machinces are close to equal regarding finished/printed job. While having the CJV will eliminate the possibility of the...
  12. VP-540 leaking inks to drain bottle overnight.

Gene was right about "wicking" with the expanded sponges. With your new caps, expanded sponge would not cause this. Try backing down the capping position, willing to bet it's set to high, and instead of the sponge causing the wick, the rubber edges of cap top are causing the "wicking" My .02
  13. Help..is my head going bad ?

Make sure your capping station is set for the right height. Sounds like when the print carriage comes to the home postion that caps are creating a "wick" for the ink. Adjust your cap station down. I have set to high and came back the next day to a floor of ink. My .02
  14. SP-i vs VP

Another difference between the SP and VP model is the dot size the head is laying down. SP lays down a smaller dot vs the VP. The larger dot the VP is laying down gives you the increase in speed. IMO the sp prints a better image vs the VP. My $.02
  15. Cutting Problems with SP540

Have you confirmed there is a cut-line on the graphic? Also confirm your not "print only" under the cut control tab in Versaworks. Sounds like 1 or both of the above are the issue. If it was something with the printer, I would think you wouldn't get a good print. My $.02
  16. Contour Cutting Magnet with Roland

You might also have to change your feed setting. I know the "Mag" color profile has a different feed setting. Ditto the 1st message regarding scoring, 60 deg blade, and slow speed. My. 02
  17. SP-540V Serge Mist Filter Change

Easy replacement, remove the silver plate and replace Mist pad and "t-sponge". T-Sponge allows for wicking of Mist Pad. Both are considered comsumables for the printer. My $.02
  18. capping station q?

If we are talking about a Mimaki JV-3, Mimaki recommends changing the whole Cap Assy. I have changed/replaced just 1 of the cap tops, just be carefull of the springs. The cap top from Mimaki are somewhere in the neighborhood of 40.00, or you can buy the whole assembly for 97.00 and have new...
  19. Solvent ink conversion instruction for CJ-500

It's a uphill battle to convert the CJ series to solvent. You'll need to replumb the ink lines, replace Head and Capping station. Add a heater, but without you pre or platen heat you'll be chasing colors and or print quality. It can be done, but know you'll have more headaches compared to...
  20. Problems with Triangle Ink

Was the Head with the wornout gasket an OEM head? I ask because I have 2 dozen shops on Trangle and they have no reported problems. Traingle hasn't changed the formula. Smells like a china head, not a japan head. My .02
