  1. sp540 help

Call your Dealer, but I doubt they will provide the wiring drawings. It's against my company policy to forward that info and service manual's to non-customers (out of my Roland territory). Hopefully your dealer/supplier is a Roland re-seller. My .02 GTSTech_1 PS- your in need of part#...
  2. sp540 help

Couple of things that should have been checked out. Do you have power at the outlet? Possible the circuit breaker could have flipped. Fuses look good, did you actually test the fuses? If they test ok, and you have power at the outlet then some other component is bad on the power board or...
  3. sp540 help

Guess I looked over the "it won't power up", Check your Fuses (Glass Tube type) on the power board. If blown replace, but the question remains "what blew them". I recently went thru this type repair on a SJ-1045. After 4 power units, 3 servo boards and 1 scan motor (was shorting out system)...
  4. sp540 help

Power down the printer, reboot computer...cross your fingers and power up printer. Still no lights; ping the ip address, if time out message: try the Inter-Net Tool, no communication....your gonna need a mainboard. It's a gut feeling. My .02 GTSTech_1
  5. Replacing T-Sponge on SP-300V

The T-Sponge goes under the mist pad (sponge), the t-sponge acts as a wick for the mist pad once it gets sturated. When you remove the mist pad, insert the longer part of the T into the center hole of the tray, then put you mist pad in. GTSTech_1
  6. Roland Service Mode

For future reference, if you want to print your "service report". Turn off printer. Load media. Hold down the "down arrow" and turn the machine on (sub power). Your service report will print. My .02 GTSTech_1 PS- this works on the SP models, I think you hold the up button for the VP.
  7. Roland SP540V won't print...

No testing of the servo board that I know of. At least not with a common volt meter, I am sure there are some electronic repair shops with the right equipment. I can only guess that if they can discover and repair the bad componet, your cost is going to be close to buying a new board, and you...
  8. VersaWorks Profiles Updates

In versaworks, click on media, then media explorer.....then you add/create a new media, then double click on it and upload the icc for the newly created/named media. Not sure why you need to create a new profile or upload one. Roland's profiles work on 90-95% vinyls in the market place. My...
  9. Roland SP540V won't print...

Woochi, If you turned the machine on with the head cables disconnected then it could be a bad print carriage board, the cable from the main board to carriage board. My .02 PS- I have also found a bad servo board was the culprit on 1 repair.
  10. Missing - bent nozzles in Mimaki Jv3 test print, any troubleshooting ideas?

Ditto on the soaking/nozzle wash. Looking at your pic, to me it looks like you need to adjust alignments, they look like they are printing on top of each other (Could just be the picture). My .02 Joey Alonso GTS
  11. roland printhead meltdown (as in smoke)!

I have seen this many times in the field. You answered your own question..."the cable might have been wet". The water contact would short the head, and thus the weird streaking pattern in the prints....You would get the same streaking if the cables were not inserted all the way also. If...
  12. VersaWorks won't cut!

make sure you have set your "EPS" Margin(File Format tab), when you installed it went back to default of .00....make it .05 see if that helps. also make sure your operation is set to print and cut and not just print (cut control tab). Hope this helps, GTSTech_1
  13. Roland 540vp or sp?

Yes the speed is the "simple answer", but to get the speed (VP vs SP) the VP lays down a larger dot size. In my opinion the SP prints a better print, but it moves at a snails' pace. You can't go wrong with either, both are great machines. My .02 GTS_Tech
  14. Roland Soljet Pro2 SC-540 Magenta issues

When you say you've pull all the ink you can...where were you pulling it from? Damper or CapTop tube? If it was from the damper, then pull some ink with the captop tube. If you can't pull ink from the captop tube, either the nozzles are clogged or the manifold screens are. I can only assume...
  15. Getting Hella Branding on my SP300 in brown and greens.. What to do?

Try changing the Color Mode to 2 bit, not sure if it will solve, but I have always setup flexi with 2 bit color mode on all new installs. My .02 GTSTech_1
  16. JV3 SP2, Changed Print Head Still Only one side is printing

Damper, bad O-Ring, or cap top could be the problem. My .02
  17. anyone that can helpfind and test fuses on sp-300v?

Your fuses are located on the bottom right of the Mainboard. They are sillver with white caps on each end, flat mount type fuses (not glass tube). To test, take a volt meter using the ohms setting, or the setting that makes a beep sound when open circuit is detected. If the fuse test ok, then...
  18. SP540-V Print Issue - Yellow is printing Orange

Inspect the cap top for swelling of the sponge, if it's swollen over the black edges...replace it. If the cap top looks ok, I would pull your yellow cart. Make sure it has ink, the tab can fail and the printer thinks it has ink, but it doesn't. The machince will start pulling Magenta into...
  19. Third Party Inks!!!!!!!!!

All 3rd party inks are good until your 1st bad batch of ink, carts, or chips (mimaki/mutoh). After that, let's hear the reviews. My .02
  20. Ink dropouts creating banding issues

Have you cleaned your encoder strip? Wipe it down with Rubbing Alochol using a lint free sponge/Swab.
