  1. HP Latex Supply Issues

Every print broker I've ever known either eventually bought a printer and opened a shop or quit and got a day job. The margins are hard to make money on unless you're pumping out volume. It looks so good on paper but it almost always turns into a grind that gets old fast.
  2. Valujet Scuffing

Other than heat the only things that are going to affect ink adherence is the ink you're using and the material. Are you using OEM or aftermarket ink? You might be using a profile that lays down too much ink as well. Play around with different profiles with different resolutions and see if that...
  3. Need Help VP540 Limit Position Initialization problem

You should be able to find a used one for cheaper for sure. Those were solid machines so there should be a good amount of them still out there.
  4. Question Digital marketing a sign shop with no money?

SEO for Dummies is actually a good place to start. It goes through the basics and why to do certain things. As FireSprint.com said above, most of it is describing what you have to offer in a descriptive way that gives people the most relevant information possible. Making sure images are tagged...
  5. Need Help VP540 Limit Position Initialization problem

That probably points to the servo board then. No way of knowing if that's 100% the issue until you put one in unfortunately.
  6. Best way of disposing with an old printer?

We generally strip it of useful sellable parts and then throw it in the alley way. It's usually gone within a few hours.
  7. Need Help VP540 Limit Position Initialization problem

Is it possible that there is a protective film on the encoder that wasn't taken off before install? I've seen it happen on Mutoh machines. So it's erroring out during the limit position correct?
  8. Need Help VP540 Limit Position Initialization problem

Are you able to print still at the moment or are you getting an error code? I believe on that machine the servo board is near the main board. It's behind the back left cover if you're facing the back of the machine.
  9. This Old Roland (LEJ-640FT) - Temperature Is Too High

In my experience when Rolands give the temp too high error it's actually the head thermistor and it's heating up because of a short circuit. Check your head cables for damage or ink splatter on the leads. It could just be a failing head as well.
  10. Need Help Mimaki CJV 150-75

I would flush the lines with cleaning solution and replace the dampers. You're also probably going to need a new cap top as they dry out/flatten when they sit there unused for so long. While you're in there you might as well flush the pump and waste tubes to make sure they aren't clogged. The...
  11. Question Digital marketing a sign shop with no money?

I hate SEO companies. The major reason is their aggressive marketing tactics. I get emails and calls every day. The other reason is, in most cases for small companies, there aren't going to be enough changes to your site every month to justify paying a monthly fee to someone who's doing...
  12. Need Help VP540 Limit Position Initialization problem

If no matter what you do it still acts funky during the limit initialization, it's probably the servo board. Post a picture of the blurry prints though. That might give more insight.
  13. Getting involved but what machine!?!?

lol I'm going to have to use that from now on.
  14. Mutoh 628 no ink after printhead

These machine shave a mind of their own sometimes!
  15. Mutoh 628 no ink after printhead

It's virtually impossible for all of the dampers fail at the same time. If you're just pulling air at the cap top, that's what's causing the ink not to flow. Do you have the old cap top to throw in and see if it does any better?
  16. roland versacamm sp-300 print head keeps hitting my vinyl

The main reasons head strikes happen are: The heat is too high causing the media to buckle The pinch rollers aren't feeding properly causing the media to buckle The material is too thick for the machine There's ink build up on the bottom of the head The vacuum is failing or clogged with dust
  17. Mutoh 628 no ink after printhead

That sounds right. Unfortunately it sounds like everything is setup correctly but it's just not sealing for some reason. The fact that you couldn't recover the old head points towards the same thing. It's rare that the cap is misaligned but I would get some black ink on a swab and swab it around...
  18. Changing CJV150 8 color (white - silver) to dual 4 color CMYK advice needed

It might be a firmware thing. Different regions of the world get different firmware sometimes based on which inks are legal etc. Sometimes these machines save the ink type so when you try to fudge the fill up parameter it only gives you the original ink you chose as an option. At this point if...
  19. Mutoh 628 no ink after printhead

When the fuse blows it doesn't affect the ink flow in the lines when doing cleanings. So your main issue is the ink flow. Once you get ink flowing to the head, if it still prints nothing, then you can suspect the fuse. It sounds like the cap top isn't sealing for some reason. Make sure that...
