  1. New Mimaki JV100-160 ICC help

That would be too easy! Good luck!
  2. New Mimaki JV100-160 ICC help

I've been meaning to try this but haven't had a chance to. You might be able to install the MImaki profiles onto Flexi. If you go to this link: https://mimaki.com/product/inkjet/i-roll/jv100-160/download.html Choose your ink type and configuration and it will give you a list of profiles to...
  3. Black Ink

If your head is already deflecting after such a short time you might just need a new cap top. It might not be sealing well which causes the nozzles to dry out and fail to recover during cleanings. I'd probably throw a new cap in, do a head soak, and then run a strong cleaning. That should help...
  4. ROLAND USERS does anyone use these?

You make all good points and I especially agree on people needing to be able to self repair but I would be surprised if Epson sold ink to aftermarket suppliers. Roland, Mimaki, and Mutoh all use Epson ink and the reason is that when those companies went to Epson to get a license to use Epson's...
  5. Artificial Intelligence and Copyrights

If you sent this email to me 20 years ago I would think you were pranking me. What a time to be alive.
  6. Dumb Question

It depends on what printer you're using. Printers like most Mimaki, Roland, and Mutohs don't have a ton of onboard memory so they rely on the computer to feed it data constantly. Other printers have hard drives on board that make it so they don't need a constant stream.
  7. ROLAND USERS does anyone use these?

When a company offers a warranty that's 4 times longer than what the original manufacturer gives, always be skeptical.
  8. Bright green color code - Mutoh 1324X

You simply can't print fluorescent colors on a CMYK printer. It's always going to look washed out compared to the real thing. Print the picture above with your printer and that will give you an idea of how close you can get.
  9. Mutoh 628 error ID-85

The cables are horrible. The official rating is that they can be installed 3 times before failing.
  10. Changing CJV150 8 color (white - silver) to dual 4 color CMYK advice needed

Shoot me your serial number and I'll see if I can get it. I usually can but since you're in Australia I don't know if they handle it the same way. Worth a shot!
  11. 1614a - no ink at print

We do. Make sure to test the fuse on the CR board as well.
  12. Mutoh 1624 inconsistent black channels

Bordeaux brand has worked well for us. Not necessarily. What we've found is the black tends to slowly fail so if you can flush the black channel and get it printing like you mentioned above and then put the 3rd party inks in place, it should fix the issue. We think that the black just slowly...
  13. Mutoh 1624 inconsistent black channels

If you're using the new Mutoh inks that come in the black ink cartridges, we've been seeing this problem in the DX5 based ValueJets. The solution is to switch to 3rd party ink.
  14. 1614a - no ink at print

Yeah sounds like you popped the head fuse on the main board.
  15. Which Solvent printer to get? Mimaki JV100-160 or Epson S40/S60

Make sure you read the fine print on the Mimaki 3 year warranty. It's usually 1 year of full warranty and then 2 years of parts only. The heads in the Mimaki are about $4500 and there's 2 of them. I've installed many machines in my 13 years career. My take on the JV100? Get the Epson.
  16. Vinyl curls waves direct after print

If the room you store the vinyl in gets cold at night and then you warm it up on the printer, the different layers of the vinyl, adhesive, and backer are going to expand at different rates which makes it wavy. You would want to store the vinyl in a warmer place in that case.
  17. Yellow Saturation issues.

What machine are you working on? Looks like a damper failing to me.
  18. UCJV300 Execute <Air PG> message this morning

That message is supposed to show up once per month but it should go away when you do the air purge.
  19. SP300v started drifting as it prints

It's an encoder issue. You might have some ink splatter on it which is causing the print to drift. I'd try cleaning it first with alcohol and replace it if the problem doesn't go away.
  20. RIP questions re: importing many files and print/cut workflow

If you are handy with Python it would be a pretty straight forward script to run through a CSV file of file names and copy those files into a hot folder. Won't help with the nesting but might be something to look into.
