We create a bleed on the bottom and rhs of the panel then trim to the top and Lhs side. We then align top left to the panel
And trim to the panel once down
Times Roman is always a good one for V Carving as the serifs look really good as they come to a point. Not sure which software you use but many of them have the ability to show a preview of how it will carve - We use artcam which definitely does...
Almost certain the cracks are due to what the acrylic has been cleaned with. Any solvent inc window cleaner or alcohol or meths etc can cause crazing or cracking. Any form of machining or flame polishing creates a stress in the acrylic which solvents can then cause to crack. Typically happens...
Flexi does have two useful tools apart from bezier curves for creating curves with few points on them; 'optimize by smooth arc 'and 'make arc', these are both on the path edit toolbar I use them a lot for cleaning up vectors and are quite handy, don't know if these will help you?
Your welcome, I would suggest you check with the chosen print shop as to what format and spec they require the files in so they dont have to touch them. We normally use Illustrator and if we ever send work externally convert the fonts to outlines - MS Publisher and Word doesnt cut it lol
Im from the UK so you are not nicking any of my business but the reality is that unless you are using your printer for several hours everyday you will run into serious maintenance problems. Frankly the money you think you will save will be multiplied many times over in running and maintenance...
Have had both Roland and Mimaki. Currently CJV300 with that ink set. Mimaki is much better in terms of quality of print but does require more attention in terms of maintenance. But definitely would buy another Mimaki
I have seen details of rolling acm
On one of the manufacturers websites few y arscago. Think it was reynobond. Will try and dig out a link on it and send it to you It can definitely be done as our multipanel sheets show bending as an option alongside riveting and routing on the polytheism...
Why not use some dowel rod for invisible fixings between the 2 at 1 inch thick the fixings will never be seen. You can get little copper pins that you put into holes on one piece then position it the pins leave marks for drilling the other holes and you get perfect alignment and no possible...
to join the two panels we use a tongue and groove on the rear by taping one piece of substrate set back from the edge as a spacer then another piece over and butted to the edge as the groove then a tongue of the same substrate to the other side, keeps them pulled nicely together across the face...
There are quite a few companies in the UK selling house signs on line and through buying sites such as woucher and groupon - Butler finish backing and 3 mm acrylic face with stand offs in between for between £10 - £20. frankly unless you can set a production line up with high throughput of...
I assume you mean a printed vinyl with wood effect on? if so flood coat the substrate with the vinyl and then route it. As long as the tool is nice and sharp it will cut very neatly through both both
also consider printing onto matt or gloss vinyl as these often give a better result that printing onto paper and much easier to apply to your substrate
