Have a look at V Carve Pro by vectric, https://www.vectric.com/ they have a free trial edition. I know this will allow you to create a toolpath that starts at one depth and finishes at another along its path, the type of path you might create for draining board flutes etc... just switched over...
Don’t know if they still do it but Roland used to publish a booklet entitled making a profit from your Roland or similar. Email them or look on their website for a download Most media suppliers will send you a printable sample. (Metre or so) of the media’s you are likely to use
We bought Festool guides and router. Bought a 8ft and 4ft guide with clamps to join together for 10 ft panels also Geko clamps which are great for holding the guide to the substrate
When we first started we used a hand held router mounted onto guides with a tool specific for folding. This was a v bit with the bottom squared off to leave a 3 mm flat edge. Worked fine until we bought our CNC router. It is important to make sure you have good depth control on the router so it...
Unfortunately, that seems the way with SAI, we had a problem last year with a function in their production manager not working - it was the 'Show Me' function on the plotter which we had used religiously on jobs for many ears using v 8.5. After saying that that it worked just fine on all other...
if you make it out of aluminium composite eg Dibond, it has enough give in it to bend it to that curve within the wall, just screw one side in and then tack along it every 600 (2ft) or so.
we have a jv300 and cg160 fx plotter. All we do id either setup one print file on one layer in illustrator, the cut layer on another layer, and then the crop marks which automatically go to their own layer. switch off the layer that the cut marks are in (we do this as we colour these in magenta...
Whatever solution make sure it meets all fire regulations. Many banner media’s don’t. Also vinyls have varying fire resistance. Could be an expensive mistake to make..,
We have a 6010 AXYZ 3m x 2m it uses the AMC controller and we have no issues in any way with it. The upgrade to 2AMC is about £4k Stirling which to me is a nice to have rather than critical, maybe one of these days... The main limit with the AXYZ is spindle speed which will depend on the spindle...
The main difference we have found in cheap versus quality acm is the routing quality, the cheap seems to leave some very rough edges whereas the quality you get a nice finish to the edges. We only ever use .3mm skin for routing but do use .15 mm skin for flat panels when up against it on cost ...
I would leave the other party to do all the chasing and proving. Next time he contacts you I would ask to see his maintenance log for the period since you worked on it. If he doesn’t have one that could work in your favour if it went legal as it demonstrates a lack of reasonable care on his...
We make them for Rugby Clubs etc we just use sign rail that you would put on the back of panel and post signs and rivit this to the face, the channel formed is ideal for sliding dibond / foamex panels in and out of. wouldn't be too difficult to attach padlock or but and bolt to the ends to...
