Spinnaker makes a lot of cut sheet label stock and I can't remember if they offer any roll stock as well, but might be worth looking into.
Sihl's 3683 adhesive paper isn't bad but the release liner is a really thin glassine.
We use Sihl's 3683 self-adhesive paper and paper-based display board for 'biodegradable' displays.
3683 is a headache to run on our HP 560 but it should work great on eco-sol.
There are lots of different paper-based boards - Converd, Bulldog Board (Grimco has a version called 'Eco Display...
I've actually been looking for a somewhere to buy printable Tyvek - do you have a source?
Grimace has Magic's tyvek banner but it's for aqueous printing so its expensive af.
I've been less than thrilled with them lately as well.
I started using them for retractable stands after a few headaches with Orbus.
They list "free shipping" for their SilverStep stand but once you checkout they charge you shipping.
Turns out it only applies to WSPrime members...
Ordered a...
Is anyone using PrintSmith for their wide format production?
Saw a few posts about people looking for input on using PrintSmith for wide format but no real useful info.
For years the owner of my shop has priced out wide format with generic sq.ft. rates without really basing it off of cost...
For the life of me I can't get Sihl 3683 (self adhesive paper) to run smoothly on an HP latex 560.
Does anyone run this on an HP 560/570 and care to share their profile settings or any tips?
The only way I can prevent it from buckling on the platen or in the curing unit is to attach it to the...
One of the materials I used for the initial test was an adhesive wall fabric similar to PhotoTex, but I decided against using it because it didn't seem to have a coating so the image was easy to scuff.
I figured a laminated vinyl would be best in case they ever needed to wipe it down/clean it...
Printed with an HP latex 560.
First time using HP Prime Matte Air with HP Matte Poly lam.
Reprinted using Mactac RB428 with the same HP lam.
Fwiw the decals are 61"w x 27.5"t...nothing crazy.
When I was pulling the old decals off the wall paint came off incredibly easily – just picking at the...
We do a ton of work for a local university, mostly digital/offset products and indoor short-term signage.
A department recently asked for a few simple wall decals of their logo and I figured it would be a great first-time learning opportunity (famous last words)
After checking the locations...
I tried it in the past with our HP 560 and it was a pain – constant warping and buckling caused the printed area to scrape against the top of the curing unit.
It was a few years ago, but I think I remember cutting the roll in half in order to get it to work without the buckling issues.
We used to do a lot of fabric printing and HP support told me that you used to be able to buy the pads on their own but now you have to order the entire collector kit, which I agree is a total waste of money and resources.
We just washed the collectors out by hand every so often using stain...
Yeah, I usually just put a new layer of banner tape on top of whatever is left and only cut it off if I know the leader is long enough.
I was mainly curious if I could use regular old hook and loop tape instead of trying to convince clients to buy a whole new stand.
Especially when they like...
I just spent way too long peeling the old graphic off the leader of a clients old retractable banner stand and now everything is covered in a delightful film mixture of RapidRemover and adhesive residue :toasting:
I know some suppliers offer models that have velcro leaders instead of adhesive...
I dont think its an issue with Caldera, I think its an issue with the file.
When I flattened the transparency in Acrobat it comes out with a solid background.
I opened the file in Illustrator I got a warning that there are CMYK as well as RGB elements.
There are also a ton of clipping masks and...
I've had some similar issues with our S2 T160 but we use Caldera for all of our print+cut.
Any idea if Summa Cut Control can manage the barcodes generated by Caldera?
You might also want to check out Drytac's SpotOn SynPaper for PageWide and/or SynTac.
Both are polypro films with their SpotOn adhesive (similar/same as MacTac's mac dot).
Depending on your budget you could also print on a cheap paper and then apply a double sided adhesive.
I was using HP's Prime Matte Banner for a while and never had a single issue.
Recently switched to TVF's 13oz banner only because thats what a local distributor carries and he's been so helpful I try to order whatever I can from him.
TVF's banner is more flexible and the edges curl slightly...
Haven't seen it before but I've always heard about weird bugs like this with Adobe CS/CC on windows.
Not to add insult to injury but looks like my computer got a hold of much better quality shrooms :p
