First time printing on a 36" roll of Sihl 3248 and the graphic is coming out with vertical streaks (aka running length of media, not width) that are only visible when viewing it at an angle.
I feel like I've had issues like this with other display films but honestly can't remember at the moment...
Does anyone have any experience/feedback on Sihl's display film for latex – 3241 and 3248?
Or another lay-flat option that would work on an HP 560?
Ive seen recommendations for Grimco's Briteline Rollup film but thats on backorder until August.
I've been using their 3515 but it warps/waves...
Ok, so Im back.
I've never done a color calibration through Caldera and their documentation on the process is severely lacking so Im gonna hack my way through this.
Just plugged the ES-2000 into my imac that runs Caldera, created a new media project for the paper Im going to try and calibrate...
We switched to 2 or 3mm paperboard. No warping/denting, biodegradable, and easier to cut.
We get a brand called Bulldog Board but there are other brands out there...Grimco sells it as Duratex Eco Display Board.
I use Caldera and I've noticed that if my display goes to sleep while the cutter is going the cutter will stop.
It's only happened a few times during long jobs but if I remember correctly once I wake the display up the cutter will eventually start up again.
1. We do a ton of work for several local universities and all of our proofing is done via email with secured PDFs (not ideal but its worked for years, eventually we'll move to something automated).
2. Depending on the quantities you're doing you can likely get away with using a smaller aqueous...
We've made canvas prints on our pro4000 as well as our HP 560.
Hands down the pro4000 has better color, but the aq receptive coating on canvas can be pretty fragile so you might find that you need to coat the prints before stretching/mounting.
The 560 is more cost effective and the image is...
After a recent poster order the question came up again so I figured I would repost with (hopefully) better wording and photos.
Do other papers work better/differently?
Light areas in the image always print less glossy than darker areas and are also more prone to scuffing.
If I lightly drag my fingernail across the print, it barely leaves any mark over darker areas but more visibly over light areas.
I originally thought that the ink/optimizer wasn't curing...
I know I know...thats a really subjective term and should have clarified.
If I print from photoshop using the print driver and media specific icc profile (the one provided by mftr/vendor) colors are pretty accurate to what I see on screen (m1 iMac), granted I have to turn screen brightness...
Running Caldera 15
Our cut sheet Fiery has an ES-2000.
In the past Caldera told me I wouldn't be able to use the es2000 because EFI's licensing would conflict with Caldera's licensing and cause issues.
Naturally Im a little hesitant to play around with it to see if it will work because...
Does it make much of a difference which spectro we get?
Its annoying that we have ones connected to our Fiery RIPs but they're only licensed to work with those specific computers so they're incompatible with Caldera.
We're somewhat new to large format production in that we primarily do digital and offset printing/mailing.
A few years ago we bought an HP 560 so we could bring basic LF printing in-house.
We also have a Canon pro4000 that we use for higher quality products like photos and art prints.
After a...
Im running am HP Latex 560 and noticing some weird issues with a 36" roll of HP Premium Poster Paper.
I just printed several 34x54" posters and while cutting them out I noticed that the pastel areas of the image are much more matte.
The ink in these areas dont rub off, but if I wipe it with my...
