  2. Nozzle dropout all of a sudden?!?!?!

Looks like the "code" we were given isn't actually the service mode afterall....it merely is to perform the capping station adjustment. I didn't even know it existed. I thought it was in the service mode, but is not, so I don't know how to test the sensors. But if you say that a bad sensor...
  3. Nozzle dropout all of a sudden?!?!?!

yes, all modes of handle up/down, cover up/down, etc. etc. etc. Okay, if the sensor isn't bad, how do I go about testing it? I've never found my way into the service mode before...never had the need. Cool that I can check the sensors in there though! Does anyone know where I can get an...
  4. roland sp-540v won't conect

You have to use the Roland Print-Server software to change the IP...that's why I kept asking about this software.
  5. Nozzle dropout all of a sudden?!?!?!

Well after closer inspection, looks like it is in fact due to the capping stations not completely sealing around the heads. So we talked with a tech and they told us how to enter service mode and then make this adjustment. However, upon trying to complete the process, it keeps saying 'REMOVE...
  6. roland sp-540v won't conect

Since you just noticed the problem with the new router, using "Akums Razor" (the simplest explanation is usually correct), you may have some setting in the router that's not allowing the printer to be seen. I don't use VW, but in Wasatch I have to set up the IP address of the printer. I'd say...
  7. roland sp-540v won't conect

Need more to go on here bud. Have you had it working before? Is this the first time to connect it? Have you moved it or anything to a new location? Do you have the Roland Print-Server software installed?
  8. Nozzle dropout all of a sudden?!?!?!

I welcome all ideas on this, but I've replaced the captops several times before (usually about every 6 mos) with no ill effects or anything of concern...in fact quite the opposite. As far as the dampers, this is my first go at it so I could have botched that part of the job. I very well...
  9. Release of the Gerber Solara ionV Inkjet Printer

Actually, I found it to be quite informative and welcomed the thread. If you have no desire to read about new technology, then ignore it. Joe, thanks for sharing about this, I've been interested in the Ion for a while now. However, if I were to get one, I think I'd push hard for the original...
  10. Nozzle dropout all of a sudden?!?!?!

Why would I all of a sudden get nozzle dropout? Printed fine earlier today, now all of a sudden getting a lot of magenta nozzles missing. I recently replaced both capping stations (just a month or so ago), last week replaced all dampers and had it printing top-notch. Manual and auto cleans do...
  11. SP540 Color Problem

I don't know if VW has it, but Wasatch has a function to auto-flip every other print to help alleviate this problem. I personally don't know exactly why it happens, but it must be common enough to build that function into the RIP.

Would love to get Vonage but we can only get DSL here, no cable, and to get just a DSL line it has to be a "dry loop" they call it...which is more $$$. When the extra cost of the DSL is added to Vonage, it's a marginal savings from what I could tell. I think they want about $100/mo for a...

I looked up the GrandCentral bit, but don't really get how it is all that useful since all it really seems to be is an elaborate forwarding service. It doesn't place a phone line at your home or business...just not sure if it would be very useful to me at all....currently doesn't appear to be...
  14. www.magicjack.com

I almost ordered one a couple months ago, but then did some Googling to see if the hype was all that. I got a lot of mixed reviews on it, and most seemed to be more negative than not. A few things I reacall: Nearly non-existent support (no phone number at all at that time); spotty...
  15. Have you seen GIMP

Yep, have played with it some...enough to see that it is a pretty capable program, but not enough to say what's wrong with it (if anything).
  16. rastering

I THINK you mean you want to use the POWERCLIP function? Hard to tell for sure based on how you wrote this and not much info to go by.
  17. 30 inch printer???

Price should be down the list of "requirements" with SERVICE and SUPPORT being at the top.
  18. 30 inch printer???

A Roland SP-300 is one (inkjet). Another is the Summa DC4sx (thermal printer). There is also the older Roland thermal printers, but most are considered to be junk. I think Gerber made or maybe still makes one too, but I think that particular one is/was kind of a dud (not the Edge, Jetster...
  19. Valuejet 1604 Prints Greys all wrong

Unless you've set up a color-swap in your RIP, 100% K will NOT produce a good black! You either need to specify a "built-black" in the design or swap our 100%k in the RIP. We typically use something like C50 M50 Y50 K100 for a nice rich "built-black" but you can adjust some of those to better...
  20. Help getting started, looking to buy stuff.

I don't know what color MORON is, but Sarge sure has shown his true colors on this one...and they sure aren't RED, WHITE & BLUE!
