Have 3 units 1624, only used original dampers, never used generic. Original dampers had the same life as printheads, so when ever I replace a printhead, I replace the dampers, cables & capping station as well. This combination never fails.
As I don't own a transmissive SPM, I create a profile as a reflective material then print using 2 strike mode, it works fine for clear media, for translucent media I have to reduce the ink limit a little bit.
That is a common problem with Latex and Z serious, happens because of the OMAS module. Sorry to say that but the only solution is to stop the optical media advance sensor OMAS. If you are using RIP like Caldera, there is an option to disable OMAS, in this case you will get consistent results but...
Extra wait time between passes will make the print speed super slow, increasing the temp above normal limits will cause the ink to loose it's vibrancy.
With all respect to increasing temp and wait times between passes, I have experimented all of these and nothing will work, search for good quality media like HP or Natura.
Most Latex compatible ink suppliers, supply pre filled cartridges with fresh chips. So what you have to do is simply plug and play unless the supplier instructs otherwise.
