I did that on a VJ1624, used Alcohol as an intermediate step.

This is because of the vacuum, after loading media advance it a little bit untill it covers all the platten area, better till it starts to show coming out from the dryer, then start print and all this will be history.

The major problem with HP Latex and Z series is th OMAS. In order to get tiles that match with each other or contour cut a file, you have to disable the OMAS.

For what printer & what type of ink do you use STS ?

I don't recommend any 3rd party inks, it will turn out more expensive than OEM due to waste material, low concentration of color pigments, inconsistency, dampers clog, need for new profiles, etc…… Unless from a respected brand like Bordeaux, Triangle etc…. KEEEP AWAY FROM CHINA

That is definitely out gassing, the ink didn’t dry out completely. As for the areas without ink, solvent vapor expands and opens a way at the weakest points of the bond.

Simply because it wasn't invented by a printer or a printhead manufactures, so they didn't embrace it and killed it. There was also Lumocolor presented by Staedtler in Fespa 2010 which faced the same destiny.

Contact them first and make sure they have it in stock. My last order from them took 2 month to ship. Usually they are excellent to deal with, except my last PH order.

Did it last year and they never shipped it or reply to our email. I even contacted ministry of trade and filed a complain. Still no refund and no printhead. Don't do that unless you are 100% sure of the supplier.

Had this problem many times with ink carts and printheads as well. The important thing to check is, does the printer accept and recognize new carts ?

72 DPI is more than enough

I don't have experience with OKI, although I had experience with HP Designjet 9000 which was originally a Seiko color painter 64 which is now had some great modifications like auto bi direction alignment and named recently OKI.
