  1. mutoh 1614

It's a timer that indicates the maintenance station has done as many cycles as expected for it's lifetime. It doesn't mean it's bad though.
  2. Black splotches during printing

Yeah that's either what unclebun said or also a stuck wiper or swollen flushing sponge. Check that the wiper goes back to tit's home when the printer is printing. The wiper should be out of the path of the head. Also check the flushing sponge to the left of the wiper and make sure it's not...
  3. Roland Crop Marks giving shifted cuts

I'd try the ENV MATCH then. I've seen it happen on older models a bunch of times where the print/cut alignment is off and won't get any better no matter what you do until that function is carried out. Other than that, maybe Joe House has some insight.
  4. Roland Crop Marks giving shifted cuts

Print cut alignments can be off depending on the material thickness and other factors. Take a look at the user manual and there is a section on how to do the user alignment. Also, if it's an older model, try running the ENV MATACH function in the menu. It is an automatic function that...
  5. Bad Nozzle Check

We have them in stock if you need one. If it were me I would try flushing the current head with a syringe and cleaning solution. It's a last resort measure but sometimes you get lucky and can clear it out. You can also damage the head internally so that's why it's last resort. Mutoh 1624 print...
  6. Need Help Opinion on purchasing a Mimaki CJV150-75 with expired cartridges

Sounds good. One word of caution. most people I have spoken to about 20" machines regret not getting a 30". 20" is not a common material size so you'll be stuck buying expensive stuff, pay extra for rolls to be slit, or have to slit them yourself. They aren't bad machines just inconvenient...
  7. Printer is wonky

I agree. It's definitely something blown electronically. Most likely the main board. Unfortunately other than finding someone who can test and repair boards, you're going to have to throw parts at it. My guess is the main board but it could be the head or any cable or board between the head and...
  8. Pantone / Adobe copyright issues

Hopefully the open source movement has an answer to this. I can't imagine it being that hard for the right person, smarter than me, to build a universal, open source color matching system.
  9. Need Help Opinion on purchasing a Mimaki CJV150-75 with expired cartridges

I agree with everything above. If you want to install a head yourself you can save pretty big if you check out our options. We have original Mimaki and compatible alternatives as well.
  10. Need Help Looking for suggestions for a sticker/label maker...rolled...

I was at a customer's one time and they had a machine that they would load with the printed and cut roll from their roll to roll printer, and it would roll the material through the machine while weeding and slitting it in to rolls. Not sure what it was called but it does exist!
  11. Check fraud scam, new on me, at least this way

One of the keys to online sales is not tacking extra costs on at the end. People abandon carts at higher rates when the price changes from what is shown in the cart and what is actually charged at checkout. It's why free shipping is so common. It's also why we also bake the fees into prices.
  12. Wiper

It's probably that but you can test it. Power on the machine while holding function and remote. Then go into the menus and you'll see a new one labeled, #Test. Go into that menu and look for the sensor option and hit enter. Then you should be able to find the wiper sensor in there. You can move...
  13. Roland DGA

As a dealer I can tell you that if you don't push every single day, they WILL forget about you. It seems to be the same for most manufacturers.
  14. Roland DGA

Here's Roland's official warranty page. Sounds like the dealer is supposed to try to troubleshoot over the phone and if that doesn't fix it, they are supposed to get with Roland to open a warranty case at which point they will schedule service. You might need to contact Roland directly and let...
  15. Why would the file size be so big?

I took 4 years of graphic design courses and they never went over file size or file creation techniques. If it looked good, that's all that mattered. It wasn't until I worked at a sign shop that I learned just how inefficient my files were. My guess is not only high res raster images on multiple...
  16. Check fraud scam, new on me, at least this way

We might get 1% on a debit card swiped in person but CCs are going to be 2 - 3% usually. AmEx is almost always higher. Here in America some rich guy has to get his cut before us normies get ours.
  17. Wiper

If you take the cover off that covers the pump and below the maintenance station I believe it will expose the wiper sensor. It's hard without a picture to point out but the cover sort of looks like a glove box. Should be like 3 screws and it will come off.
  18. Wiper

Yeah it's just not making it back to the origin. It's possible the motor is failing but that is very rare. You might try cleaning the sensor with some alcohol. Here's a picture of where that sensor is.
  19. Wiper

The wiper slides along a piece of metal and sometimes ink build up on there. Try cleaning that up and putting some grease on it. Basically if the wiper can't move smoothly, it doesn't end up at it's home position and gives you the error. It could be a bad sensor but since yours is making weird...
