It looks like you're missing the adjustment lever. There should be a black plastic lever where your screwdriver is pointing. I'm not 100% sure if turning that screw will do it but that's normally where the lever is. Usually you don't have to loosen anything. You just push or pull the lever until...
Looks like the head slant is out of whack. Did you do the head slant adjustment where it prints black and magenta lines that you can line up using the lever on the right side of the head carriage?
Looks like classic data signal corruption to me. It's usually going to be caused by a bad cable, failing print head, and/or failing main/head signal board. It's possible that it's an encoder issue but you would normally see a stair step pattern in the red part if that was the case. I'd start by...
The official maintenance procedure for that machine wants you to clean that black surface at the end of every day. Most people only do it once or twice a week though. So it is part of the normal maintenance but I can't say that I've seen the black coating come off like that. I assume you're...
We always advise our customers against getting solvent white and every single one who still decided to go with it asked us to switch back after about a year.
I'm sure it's possible to change the chip but that's beyond my expertise. I've had luck with local music equipment shops fixing boards in the past so that might be worth the shot. At the end of the day, the manufacturer would tell you to change the main board.
We've done a bunch of government contracts for printers and run into this a lot. The purchaser knows a guy he wants to buy from so he makes the description of the machine so specific that it could only be one brand. We lost a contract on a printer once because ours had a 3% difference in the...
The limit sensor is a an interrupt sensor on the rail near the docking position. A metal flag sticks out the back of the carriage and interrupts it when it's at the home position. It's possible that sensor or flag got knocked out of place or damaged. You can test it in service mode in the sensor...
Unfortunately it's not very straight forward. You'll need to contact Mimaki and ask for the original factory parameter file that they keep on file for your specific machine. They will want a serial number to get you the proper one. Then you will need to upload the file to the printer using the...
Sometimes production manager will default to "File:" as it's port instead of the port you normally use to send jobs. Make sure it didn't just default like that by checking the port. If the plotter no longer shows up when you plug in the USB cable, it's possible the electrical outage was more of...
Chrome also will tell you when you login that your password is on a dark web list. I had to temporarily make a password for a not important site and entered 1234 and Chrome told me that it had been compromised lol.
There are also two sensors in there. One is the chip reader but there is a tiny little button towards the back of the holder that tells the machine a cartridge is inserted. If that is bent backwards or out of place it could be the issue.
