  1. Need Help Connecting a Roland Sp540v to computer/VersaWorks

I'd reset the printserver with the button to have a defined starting point.(subnet)
  2. Summa D 140 first cut missing

I don't have a photo, but when I remember correctly, its a black round piece of foam rubber with a diameter of 5mm and a thickness of maybe 1-2mm.(the problem: it gets compressed over time) It is mounted in the center of the magnet. You need to remove the coil out of the magnet to get to it.(and...
  3. Need Help Connecting a Roland Sp540v to computer/VersaWorks

It doesn't work this way with a SP-540. There is no such menu to set the IP.. You either need the software from the printserver company, or you need to set the IP via the ARP Ping method.
  4. Summa D 140 first cut missing

Is it a Summasign? If yes it's not a o-ring, but a rubber damper inside the magnetic actuator. Nreds to be disassembled to get to.
  5. 700W owners: White alignment problems?

There is a upgrade called "feed axis spring". We normally install it together with the enhancement kit. Is it installed on your machine?
  6. Roland sg2-300 post head strike

Replacing a head DIY isn't a good idea on a VG/SG, as you need to enter the head rank in service mode. The quote looks OK, except that you only wrote about problems in black... so only one head/damper needs replacement. And the travel expense is a bit steep...
  7. Discussion SAI Flexi and Production Manager prints smaller than file size

Every Rip has should have a size compensation feature, because most printers print too short, due to media expansion in the print area with subsequent shrinkage.
  8. Roland sg2-300 post head strike

When a VG/SG has a hard head crash, it can happen, that a head is shifted at an angle. This can keep the filler sensors from functioning properly. I had a case, where it overfilled one channel, causing drops on the vinyl. I could imaging a possible underfilling as well. You should be able to see...
  9. Xc540 error

Sounds like you didn't do the limit pos. Initialize correctly.
  10. 700W owners: White alignment problems?

    Try a different vinyl.
  11. Wonky Cuts on Brand New HP/Summa Plotter

Cut out some 45° rectangles or squares. If you see "stepping", your timing belt is jumping. It could also be a pulley, that isn't properly fixed on the axle. Standard blades from Summa(HP) have a .43mm offset. Do a offset testcut to see, if it's ok.
  12. 700W owners: White alignment problems?

I was called to a customer printing sandwich on a 800W. I was told to replace the feed roller and all the roller bearings...(what a shitty job) It didn't change a thing. I finally found out, that the vinyl was deformed by the drying heat.(not the curing) By reducing the drying temperature and...
  13. VS640 cyan bleeding into magenta, new head?

I would suggest the pump. What are the pump cycles? 200000 is the lifetime Roland suggests. I have seen them failing around that time... The cyan misting is likely deflected nozzles.(the testprint shows some) Printing black areas shows the trailing mist, because when black is generated with a...
  14. Roland Xc540 issues

Your issue is, because the chip on the cartridge is not read correctly. (If this happens, the machine adds cleanings after a certain number of scans. If you use some bulk system, replace the chips. It's also possible, that the latest chips are not recognized anymore by your outdated firmware. I...
  15. My 3D printer saved me $500 on my L360 power switch.

While you really needed to buy the whole screen unit before, this part alone can now be ordered from HP as well.
  16. Wild Leitz TA41

The electronics and mechanics of a TA10 and TA41 are completely different. Not even the pen and blade holders are the same.
  17. Help with Roland 545ex

    The head board.
  18. summa s one Gosign usb set up

A better way to check the connection is with CutterControl. It's always the first thing I check. (Was it even back with Windows 3.1 and serial ports on the good old Summasigns.)
  19. DX7 Printhead needed for Roland BN20 must be cheap please help as ive just smoked one from China and lost $1200 AKA £900

Never use Chinese dampers on DX7 heads. I had one customer, who ordered those from Digiprint. When I saw them, I told the customer that it would be crazy to risk a 2k€ head by using these dampers. I told him to throw this trash away and installed the real ones that cost some 100 Euros each...
