  1. Can I purge without damage to heads?

The purging heads are used during installation or after replacement of the SRK(ink lines and cables going to the carriage) to fill the system with ink. When there is some ink in the line already, the purgers won't help. If there is air inside the lines, you can use a syringe. It is rather...
  2. Need Help Problem with automatic horizontal cutter on Latex 800 W

I don't know, if this option exists, but that's not important. On a 800, or 700 you have no chance to print to the front edge of the medium without it jamming in the curing channel.
  3. Sp300i Cutting Problem

There is a small round rubber patch and a small setscrew, limiting the upper position of the pen/blade. Give it a drop of oil and you should be ok.
  4. No ink is getting to the new printhead on my BN20

How much did you invest? Time & Cash
  5. TrueVis ink usage issue

I could imagine, that it's only displayed in Versaworks. The real ink empty is sensed during damper refilling. If the pump can't fill the damper (because the bag is empty), it will give a ink empty message, after it tried multiple times without success. It even gives you the chance to take out...
  6. Roland VS-300i not printing yellow!?!

This was a ink issue for sure. I had multiple cases with EcoMax3 yellow behaving exactly this way. (EcoMax3 is only sold in Europe AFAIK and should be less toxic) I flushed the ink lines and replaced dampers and heads and changed to EcoMax2 ink. That did the trick...
  7. 3M Lamination releasing from Latex Printed vinyl. Please Help

It's a known issue with Latex ink, that has the scratch proofing overcoat included in the color inks.(generation 3 inks now)
  8. No ink is getting to the new printhead on my BN20

If you "totally disassembled it", chances are very high, that the head isn't sitting correctly on the captop. (In early service guides, the captop mechanism was not meant to be removed. In later guides, a jig is mentioned for correct installation) Good luck with hot water... are you using FPG...
  9. HP 560 intermittently printing ghosts.

Clean the drive roller rubbers. Check for a too high back tension or vacuum. If it doesn't help, try with deactivated Omas. If it gets better, clean or replace the Omas.
  10. SG540 suddenly cutting strange

In the case of the SG-540, it's the locking mechanism. Take it out,(be carefull not to loose the spring loaded ball...) clean it, put fresh grease and reinstall it. Then, I'd do a limit position initialize as well. That should be it.
  11. Summa S3

The roller lever only breaks once on owner operated Summas... Other than that, I haven't seen weaknesses in S class cutters. I sell an service summas since 30 years and they are the best in cutting quality, versatility and tracking by far. Mimaki has the best software by the way... Roland is so...
  12. Perfcut image boundsries

Hi, what are your files? Jpg's?
  13. Grainy prints engineer visited

Well, this is normal behaviour. It depends on the color. You could tick "preserve primary colors" in the color management section. Then a 100% yellow will be pure yellow, while you still have correct colors otherwise.(also helps for sharper black text)
  14. How to fine tune head carriage height on an XC-540

You are running 3.5mm thick vinyl? If so, put the shims on top of that.
  15. SHEET CUT ERROR 0400

Does it cut? If yes, I'd check the front media sensor.
  16. Grainy prints engineer visited

Head 1 needs to be adjusted to head 2 in this case. But head 1 consists of 2 rows of nozzles (cyan and magenta) and head 2 has yellow and black. When doing the horizontal adjustment, the two channels of one head overlap perfectly.(or at least they should) Often, the cyan/magenta rows don't...
  17. Grainy prints engineer visited

The SG are notorious for producing grainy solids in lighter tones, because they have no light colors. In addition, the TR-2 is higher pigmented, than earlier inks. This means, less but darker dots are printed to achieve a desired color. From what I can on your pictures, the dark red looks like...
  18. Question Roland VG3- 640 flatcable throwout

The problem is "known". There was a short period with wrongly mounted cables. I had to install such a machine. I checked the cable installation and it was correct. The problem only happened, when the carriage moved slowly at a certain point. This was the case, when doing the "auto adjustments"...
  19. HP T series printer for car stickers

With such a setup, you are limiting yourself to a few vinyls, that are microporous or coated otherwise to take waterbased ink. They are more expensive and the outdoor stability may not be up to the standards. Generally with coated media with lamination, the application on 3d surfaces(cars) won't...
  20. getting horizontal color density waves in 6cm intervals on sp-540v

Check the media feed by printing horizontal hairlines. SP-540 have allways been notorious for ink starvation issues. I was in contact with Roland at the time the printer was introduced. (must be 20 years ago) They finally acknowledged the problem and had no solution. They started using wider...
