  2. Help! Independent Agfa Anapurna Service?

Thanks Growler! Hope you get better and out of the hospital soon. Best Ken
  3. Help! Independent Agfa Anapurna Service?

Agfa Head Replacement I'd also be curious to know of someone or suggestions of how to replace a head on an Mv, which I think is the same as the M, with varnish. I've got a cyan head that is probably going to need it done. We are not afraid of tackling it ourselves, but if anyone has any...
  4. FUji flatbed drops entire head at once

Similar Occurance This same kind of thing happens occasionally on my AGFA Anapurna Mv. One, or more heads just completely stop printing. I initially thought it might be some sort of a static issue as it seemed to happen a lot on coro or styrene, but it has also happened on gatorfoam or foam...
  5. Any ideas on a printable Post-It material?

Hi All This is the second time this question has come to me in the past couple years. We have a client who wants to print a stick on for an easel sign to be easily removed without damage to the base by the average person. Naturally, everyone thinks of Post-It type notes, which I know you can...
  6. HELP! Saving files for print

I'd second that, our color is consistent and repeatable. Only place that you might run into an issue is a file with special effects, i.e. drop shadows, glows, etc. For those, the only way I get them to rip properly is open them in photoshop at 240 dpi, save as an uncompressed jpeg.
  7. Onyx Production House 7 System Question

Thanks all. I suspected it might be a bit touchy, but the way mine runs now, probably not much would be worse than what I've got! I'm going to ask Onyx directly to see what they say. Best Ken
  8. Onyx Production House 7 System Question

Yeah, I know, old software, but for what we print, it is more than suitable. We only have a single printer on the RIP. And there is no money in the budget for upgrading to a newer version of Onyx. I looked on Onyx website to see if I can find an answer, but not really getting what I need. My...
  9. Cleanroom Wipes

another idea http://www.advantagesgs.com/Texwipe-TechniCloth-Wipes-4-x-4 this is what I use, very reasonable pricing Best Ken
  10. Looking for an alternative to vinyl stencils

Sorry to be a bit late on the response here, but as was suggested have them cut out of brass or galvinized metal, then you could have them solder the middle of the letters in with thin wire, this is how large industrial stencils were made many years ago. Ken Miller
  11. Agfa Anapurna Non Firing Heads

Follow Up This is sort of a half way follow up on this, as it might help someone else along the way. Another thread I followed was on banding on the Anapurna. This has been an ongoing issue for the last month or so, and I believe I mentioned it here as well. What I was running into as well, was...
  12. Problem with banding on AGFA Anapurna M4f

Follow up on fan change out Thanks again Gino for the most helpful suggestion. I now believe that the lamp exhaust fan was causing the majority of the problem. I'd never have guessed it without your suggestion. I changed out the exhaust fan yesterday afternoon, and what had been printing as a...
  13. Direct to coro prints scratch easily (Dark colors not bonding)

OK, thanks, that is what I wanted to know. Best Ken
  14. Problem with banding on AGFA Anapurna M4f

It would certainly be no cheap fix if I called in the tech. Before taking the lamp apart this morning, I got my flashlight and blew some air down into the exhaust, on the right, it turned readily, the left, not at all, took it apart, and the fan can barely be turned by hand. Fortunately, I had...
  15. Problem with banding on AGFA Anapurna M4f

Thank you Gino That is truly an interesting thought. I believe that this may be on the right track. A new issue has developed in the last two days which sort of goes along with this. The lamp housings on the Mv (and I think the other M series) are designed (I assume) with an air intake side and...
  16. Direct to coro prints scratch easily (Dark colors not bonding)

Are you speaking of just cleaning dust and dirt using a dry microfiber cloth or using some sort of cleaning fluid? Ken
  17. Problem with banding on AGFA Anapurna M4f

Any Solution? Tim Did you ever come up with any idea of what might be causing the banding. My Mv is having more and more problems of late with it. I've adjusted the feed, adjusted the heads, replaced both bulbs. I've also had occasional places where the ink just simply is not curing. I print...
  18. Direct to coro prints scratch easily (Dark colors not bonding)

Question on Pretreatment of Coro I've followed this thread and previous ones on the pretreatment of coro with interest. We have the AGFA Anapurna Mv with AGFA inks. Dark color on coro where it has to be cut tends to chip, pretty badly. I've gotten the recommended coro, enteplast, and run the...
  19. Agfa Anapurna Non Firing Heads

Ink Age? Thanks 2wheelz. I'd be curious to know what they recommended for a pretty strong cleaning solution, is that different from the normal solution? We have actually had the machine 5 years last December. So, we actually run about 7.5 hours a week on average. Still not a lot. Ink usage...
  20. Onyx RIP Server Executable Errors

Solved! At least for now. Hi Folks After almost two days of fritzing around, I stumbled across this page: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/426301/pc-keeps-crashing-onyx-rip/ I followed their directions, which I found to be a really working solution. After I did all they suggested...
