  1. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

I did get a little too happy with my sizing. And I noticed it after I posted it. And I would give it more breathing room too. Yes Joe, your logo does have vertical balance. But when it's in it's horizontal state, the wording "Commercial Cleaning" will become really small. Make a reverse...
  2. Small Time QNAP Fanless Backup System For Me

Yeah... because the NSA doesn't have worldwide reach and access.
  3. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

Just for my own curiosity... I googled the term, "Never mix italics with script fonts" and not surprisingly, I'm not the only one who knows this.
  4. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

It's a visual clutter thing. Now, you can sometimes get away with it if it "looks right". But the rule is to keep people from using lower case serif'd fonts with scripts. They are competing elements. You used a san serif, which is OK. But you still need to ground, or anchor your elements...
  5. Self Portrait Designed in CorelDRAW

There's a crap-ton of timer software for designers out there: http://www.graphicdesignblender.com/36-easy-to-use-time-tracking-tools-for-freelancers
  6. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

Right, good point. Never mix an italicized font with a script. That lowercase "o" is almost an "a" | Tap ta Battam
  7. placed images have moved

Once you have a linked image there is a "Placement Options" setting that allows you to have the image honor certain image bounds settings. This may be where you are experiencing image shifting.
  8. placed images have moved

OK, the only way things to get messed up in Illustrator on a "Placed Image" is if you have the "LINK" button checked on your File:Image:Place dialog box checked. Otherwise the default is to embed the image as part of the artboard.
  9. Artwork Release fee

Doesn't matter really anymore... customers that shop on price, have ZERO LOYALTY. I prefer laying out a branding package from the get-go anyway. Those are the clients I prefer. They have a little more money to spend and they value consistency and brand recognition. Because I layout everything...
  10. Before and After Cleaning Service Logo

She's got a "Ba-Donka-Donk" for sure! Like, "BLAMM, POWW!"
  11. So Just how fast IS your Plotter...Really!

Exactly. "STARTING AT" is just a "Loss Leader" statement. "Oh, you want a logo... that's $25 extra. Oh, more than one color? Yeah, that's going to be $15 per color." Customer: "Your sign said you'd do my doors for $20" Umm, yeah if it was just one color and looked exactly like this: "BOB'S...
  12. placed images have moved

OK, just did a test on this. I placed an image off my desktop. Then I opened the image in photoshop, selected all, copied... then went into Illustrator and pasted the graphic. Then I saved the file as an .eps to the desktop. Then I proceeded to delete the original jpg from the desktop. Then I...
  13. placed images have moved

Illustrator doesn't handle placed images like a linked image, such as InDesign. For all I can tell, when you place an image in Illustrator, it's part of the artboard. In fact, I'm pretty sure you can even delete the orginal file from your computer and Illustrator doesn't care. As far as the...
  14. $3.67

Would you mind then if I can pay you $75 to be allowed to install it too?
  15. $3.67

I'll do it for .50¢ sq. ft., but I tell my cheapy clients that it will take me about 30 days to pick out all the little holes. Or they can have it same day for $8 sq. ft. with the holes already pre-cut.
  16. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

Yeah, I've been watching it. You are totally gonna be the proud owner of a new Laser Cutter! Congrats!
  17. Automated Postage Label Printing?

OK, client of mine wants to automate their postage label printing from their online order cart set-up. Meaning, that when an order is placed in real time, a shipping label automatically prints out in the warehouse. Without having someone to click and process or batch orders on a computer in the...
  18. Wow! I think I found my Software?

Since this is a 2 year old thread, Suz... would you mind giving us an update on Shiraz? I'm in the RIP market right now.
  19. Matte Vinyl Prints Fades Fast

Even though the marketing material says that you don't have to laminate, the rule of thumb (for your sanity and good name) is to always laminate. If you are specifically going for a matte finish, go ahead and print on glossy vinyl, but laminate with a matte or luster lamination.
  20. Does anyone know if having a bubble in a damper will cause missing nozzles?

Thanks, but that was just a re-post from 2008. I've not had my Mutoh for many years. I just seem to remember being under the hood more than printing. Had fewer issues after I got off the OEM ink, incidentally. But moved on to many other challenges since.
