  1. How would you make a banner with changable dates?

Well, in my neck of the woods, 3x8 banners can be had for less than $30 nearly everywhere. So they are considered way more disposable. However, back in California when I was able to sell them for $8 sq. ft., I often times had customers wanting to re-use their "Investment" in temporary/permanent...
  2. How would you make a banner with changable dates?

This is the only time I would ever suggest laminating a banner. Thicker the better. But it will survive a couple of years, and you can do the whole cut letter vinyl thing. Personally I like to just use the rectangle over print with the new date. (insert your favorite repositionable, temporary...
  3. Wrapping a desk

5ml polycarbonate (or polyester) lamination, with pebble texture. It's kinda the appropriate material for sliding, kicks, scuffs and general abuse, yet thin enough to wrap around the curve. (The thicker stuff is like what you'd see those countertop advertising mats laminated with)
  4. GBC Pinnacle 27 Laminator

They make a special kind of kraft release paper for these kinds of laminators that allow you to do single sided. Also, consider using a sled. Even if it's a paper sled. But look into the kraft paper. It loads on the bottom roller. (You could technically wire in rheostat to dial down the heat...
  5. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

I'm assuming that the epoxy kinda does what polycarbonate does under a laser?
  6. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

    Bummer. Good to know.
  7. CMYK Color Blends Chart

Took me all morning to find this, but I made this about 8 years ago. I found it more useful to see at a glance some of the more common color blends that can be achieved with CMYK and your wide format printer. I used this chart to test all of my color profiles to find the ones I liked the best on...

Will you be able to cut your kits out of carbon fiber sheets?
  9. More display posters for the shop.

Apparently I have one buried on my desktop that I intended to print. I think I got it from someone on here, actually.
  10. More display posters for the shop.

    Here's a decent one: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-155400347/stock-vector-the-cmyk-color-model-is-a-subtractive-color-model-used-in-color-printing-and-is-also-used-to.html?src=UF27WnukBMj_hUB0nlzaMg-1-22
  11. More display posters for the shop.

Why do so many rainbow color charts show more dark and muddy colors? No one will ever really pick the dark muddy color for anything. I think I'd like to work on a color chart that shows the bright vibrant color along the top with only 5 shades of darkness underneath. Kinda like a tint chart. I...
  12. Micro 3d Printer on kickstarter raised over 1 million in 1 day

3D Printers are cute. They seem to have grabbed the imagination of the hipster crowd who never used a real tool before. It's like they don't know what a 4/5 Axis CNC Mill or Vertical Machining Center is. However, it does get people thinking and inventing. I like that. But they are too slow, and...
  13. Econocraft JR. 25 in Cold Laminator or comparable

I actually liked my Sheeter. Used it all the time, the daige just sat in the corner collecting dust.
  14. Econocraft JR. 25 in Cold Laminator or comparable

Just say no to Daige. It's cumbersome, and you'll have to use a sled. So if you want to run a length of decals, it can only be as long as the sled.
  15. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

We're egging you on, because we want to see your kickstarter project succeed. At the very least, most of us on here could have helped you out with it!
  16. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

Just throw in a random "eh" every now and then. Make sure to pronounce anything that has a decidedly "U" sound as a long "OOO" sound. [About = Aboot etc.] The word "hoser" is used at least once per sentence, and by god... if you don't say "poutine" at least once during the conversation, you...

Maybe someone at fiver can set up and help him run his fricken' laser beams too! :Big Laugh
  18. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

PowToons.com just watch the demo. (Has a flip phone? How are we supposed to think he'll be able to run a laser machine? Most of the cool laser machines can be run from a smart phone app!) :ROFLMAO:
  19. Cutting .040, .063 and .080 aluminum sheets after they have been UV printed

Look into flatbed cutters, like Zund, Kongsberg, Summa, Mimaki, Graphtec, MultiCam etc... there are many machines out there now that have multi heads, and operate in synch with shops such as yours with the flatbed UV printers. I would say that Zund, Kongsberg and Summa are my top 3 stand-outs...
  20. I just launched a Kickstarter project.

Oh, you can make free animated slide show over on PowToons.com for free. I paid the upgrade so I could do a few more things and get rid of the loud "Created In PowToons.com" saying at the end of the video. But it allows you to directly upload it to a YouTube channel. Really easy. I'm literally...
