  1. Vinyl "blistering" in printer- L25500

The only solution I found was to use 3M IJ180 haha. I just finally realized certain printers like certain materials better. But as of right now I'm not printing anything because the printer is broken, again.
  2. Printer Opinions Wanted

Some great responses here, and a lot for me to think about. I called Grimco today just to get the numbers on the HPs. Basically, a 110 is going to be about $8500 by the time it's in my shop and a 315 would be close to $13k, according to them. Also, the 315 is supposedly backordered until the end...
  3. Need Help Digitally Printing Reflective / Removal

I haven't found anything that works better than the Red Tred wheel for a 7" polisher/grinder. This isn't like the MBX tool, it looks like an angle grinder wheel with mud tire tred on the bottom of it. I use it on fire trucks primarily, but it eats through most reflectives and the adhesive pretty...
  4. Printer Opinions Wanted

This site has helped me with about every sign related problem I've had in the last couple years, so now that I have a big decision ahead of me I figured I would try to absorb some more knowledge! This isn't the same old "which printer should I buy" thread, but I am possibly in need of a printer...
  5. Trailing Cable Issues?

Well, keeping this printer going is turning into a full time job. I finally got my color issues fixed, now I think my trailing cable may be bad. The printer started giving the "replace printhead" error again, and it was printhead #3, which is the same thing it was doing a few months ago when I...
  6. Color Shifting...

I'll give those a try. I was going to try out my new profile today, but when I fired up the printer this morning and sent a job to it I got the good old "replace printhead" error. Once again, its slot number 3, just like it was 6 months ago when I replaced all the heads, the carriage pc board...
  7. Color Shifting...

Well, it's almost fixed. I ended up building a completely new profile from scratch. It was my first time doing a custom profile, but it went fairly smooth. In the picture below, the middle sample was printed with my new profile. The right side was the original print I was trying to match, and...
  8. Color Shifting...

No same settings for both prints, 12 pass/40 speed/low ink.
  9. Color Shifting...

No updates on either that I know of, unless it did something automatic which I don't think either will do.
  10. Color Shifting...

The more I've thought about this, could it be a Flexi issue and nothing to do with the printer? If all the test prints look great, then technically the printer is doing what it is supposed to do. What has me leaning towards Flexi being the problem is the fact that I can change to a completely...
  11. Color Shifting...

Gotcha, that makes sense. I replaced both heads today and all test prints are back to looking great. No yellow starvation or missing nozzles that I can see. However, my prints still look just as washed out. I tried to run a linearizarion, it printed the pattern and made it all the way to the...
  12. Color Shifting...

Yes I did, but I have ran quite a bit of material through it since then with no color changes until about a week ago.
  13. Can I Match An Avery Supreme Wrap Blue On My Hp Latex?

Just based off of what I know I can do with my HP, I would say no. The best bet would be to wrap the front of a car with the closest printed blue you can get to the Avery blue, then do the fade on the door and everything will match up.
  14. Simple Font Id (stumped Myself)

The quality of the picture isn't the greatest, but I'm getting possibly Tw Cen MT or CS Berlin
  15. Color Shifting...

And after looking into it both C/LC print heads are out of warranty. So I have two new ones on the way. But I'm having a hard time believing that printing regular Cyan through one of the light Cyan channels would cause the washed out looking color shift I was having in reds and yellows?
  16. Color Shifting...

I'm about to pull that up on the printer now. I ran the test plots and print alignment this morning, and one of the C/LC print heads is printing Cyan on both sides, so I guess that means something happened internally in that print head?
  17. Color Shifting...

Yes same material, one has been cut and weeded and the other was not, so you're seeing the white reflective. I should have mentioned that in my first post.
  18. Color Shifting...

Humidity does fluctuate slightly but I run a dehumidifier to keep it within an acceptable range. The printheads are basically brand new, but I haven't ran a linearization or test print so I'll do all that. I was printing the color bars and then I ran into issues with them confusing my cutter, so...
  19. Color Shifting...

So, today was a great day. I ran 10 yards of 680CR through my L25500 and then realized the colors were off from the same job I did a few months ago. A picture comparing the two is below. I went back in the job log and compared the settings, and as far as I can see they are identical. All the...
  20. Diagonal Bands In 680cr

I called Grimco, they already have a new roll on the way to me. She said they have never seen any 680 look that bad. It's just a pain because I'm already behind now I'm stuck waiting for a new roll.
