  1. The "Wrap Daddy" Computer

In spite of some of the posts, this is a very informative thread. My question lies in the diff. between 32-bit and 64-bit. If 64-bit is so much better...and I believe that it is better but by how much I don't know...can you install Win XP Pro 64-bit and use it for your everyday system? Will...
  2. The "Wrap Daddy" Computer

I agree with the sentiment, Gino, but somethings do have a certain level of propriety to help give them an advantage in a given market. I'd venture to say that if 'they' have come up with something very innovative and/or proprietary, then let 'em keep it that way for a while. I'm in no way...
  3. Ram- How much can I add?

If using Win XP, it will only recognize 3GB. Most systems seem to take pairs of RAM, so you'd probably have to put in a full 4GB anyway.
  4. Roland SP300: 'Hibernation' Mode?

FYI, I've only had to empty my drain bottle one time in over 2 years. It's about due again, so understand that the amount it goes thru is very minimal.
  5. black/green print

ColorRip is the 'old' version of Wasatch...they are virtually the same thing (with the exception of the upgrades in between). That is a good thing IMO.
  6. black/green print

Can I assume that you are using MAX ink and VersaWorks? You didn't ever say if you actually have a spectrophotometer...do you? Personally, I've never used VW so I don't know exactly how to go about creating a profile with it, but I'm sure someone here does. If not here, check out...
  7. black/green print

Sorry, was unable to get with you last night! Did you get this resolved yet?
  8. black/green print

Just for kicks, try setting them to "Optimized for Professional Output". This is not exactly what I use, but it is based on it.
  9. black/green print

What are your Color Management settings in Corel (under the Tools menu)...what version of Corel too?
  10. black/green print

Based on your first question, you have made your own profiles...right? If so, are you just not skilled enough to pull it off to your satisfaction? Do you have a spectrophotometer then? If so, maybe someone could assist you in making a good working media profile. You need to list what...
  11. black/green print

unSIGNed...though I don't doubt that it is working because clearly it is...but probably not for the reasons you may think. My hunch as to why it works is strictly based on how the RIP is handling the files. In a really tight workflow, the file type and/or color space used has very little to do...
  12. black/green print

That is typical of OEM profiles from Roland...too much YELLOW in the mix. This is most noticeable when printing neutral gray colors. Only way to really fix it is to create you own media profiles. If you simply drop your yellow component, all colors will subsequently be affected.
  13. Advice Needed

Yes, but all we've done so far are on box trucks and tailgates. We have a partial to do here pretty soon though. I went to the first wrap class that Pacific Coast Sign Supply held with Oracal, down in Vancouver at Sandy's Signs. You might want to check into that one to see when the next one is.
  14. Advice Needed

Wow, someone with some sense for a change....PRICELESS!!!! No, really, you are definitely on the right track. BTW, where are you located?
  15. after I print which way is up?

When performing a print/lam/cut on my Roland, the reg. mark is different at the lwr RH corner...makes it foolproof when reloading for cut. At least, that is when you let the printer generate the type of mark, it may be different if you tell it what marks to make...I dunno.
  16. inserting page?

Yes, dbl-click the rectangle tool to create a rectangle the size of your page...that is the way to do it. Also, dbl-click the select tool to select all objects.
  17. Which Material for Light Box Faces?

Sign Grade Acrylic or polycarbonate, generally white 3/16" thick.
  18. Sled Wrap...???

Well on ours (since first one) we of course had a lot of time into it. We had, in reality, about 10 hrs of design and installation. Installation on this was 4 hrs by itself. We low-balled the price (just out of sheer ignorance) but ended up getting about $700 for it...shoulda been about 50%...
  19. Sled Wrap...???

Yep, what little you can see of it.
  20. Sled Wrap...???

Here's our only sled wrap to date. We used wide paper and traced over the panels to make the templates. Honestly, you really can't charge enough for these things. We've had several ask after seeing this one, but this one is the only one so far! It is supposedly gonna show up in some...
