  1. Put up a sign in LA and get arrested, $1 million bail

A few links that actually have pics. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-billboard4-2010mar04,0,7146889.story http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-billboard2-2010mar02,0,5574021.story I am guessing they wrapped with billboard banner material.
  2. Screws for polypropylene (coro)

Thanks. I'll give them a try. I am a bit surprised that after visiting many sites selling all kinds of polypropylene and polyethylene sheets for building structures, boxes and what-not that not a one sold or recommended any sort of screws.
  3. needing some outsource stuff

Invoices from any decent offset print shop. The rest are all what is known as "ad specialties." There is a whole industry for that. However, you might be able to make a deal with a local ad specialty sales house wherein they give you a decent discount so you make a bit of a profit just...
  4. Heat Welded hems vs. sewn

Like Sticky Signs asked, what is the expected life? No banner should be up for more than 3 months as they are designed to be temporary. When engineering a banner always engineer it for double what your customer tells you. If it is for 1 month, make it last 3. 13oz is fine. Anything...
  5. Static Fix?

I really can't say. They were advertised as part and parcel of the printer sale. I think Google could be a friend here. Lots of folks make their own baskets. I would think using an uncoated canvas material probably would suffice and the metal rods holding the actual basket would be grounded...
  6. Packaging Multi-Color

The video shows it all. Depending on the size and your skill, you can do them 4X-6X or more up. Or, get them printed as suggested. And don't cut the edges like in the video. The installer should have at least one square edge to work from.
  7. Radio Stations R4 Suckers

WHOA!!! HOLD ON!!! You can make 10X-100X more with this theft than you could have if you sold them the job. You have all the original files in native format and dated. Secure these and make copies. Now, visit your lawyer. He either will take the case or refer you to an IP lawyer...
  8. vinyl signs shipping

Every cardboard box is adjustable downward in height. Slice the corners with a utility knife and fold the flaps down on top of the product. Trim one or two edges where necessary. Tape tight. You can get free boxes from Glantz. Usually I order coro by the skid but I split a 500 piece...
  9. Screws for polypropylene (coro)

I climbed all over that site. No matches. Sigh.
  10. Where to find this clipart? Looking for it in color

The wheels are similar but they are different in many respects. Per the site, there is no trademark on the individual elements (nor can there be). So, find a clipart site that has the winged wheel, grab some ribbon banners and put it all together. It would be rare to find those elements...
  11. That ink will void your warranty!!!!(*&*&^%

The ad is correct. If it wasn't he'd be liable. Think of it this way. You buy a Ford or Chevy and you are told to only use their brand of gas and oil or no warranty what would you say and do? Manufacturers have a guaranteed residual income from inks. Profits there are HUGE. Desktop...
  12. Screws for polypropylene (coro)

Yesterday I had to get gas (sticker shock!!!) and I noticed the station had some unique display boxes advertising Pepsi (best description I can think of) that were made out of coro. Intriguing that it was bent and formed and held together by what looked to be off-white colored plastic screws...
  13. Sending artwork

ZIP is built into windows - at last in XP and above. Never used option that as I have had the stand-alone versions for many years. ZIP, RAR, 7-z, etal are merely compression programs. Think of them as a bullet-proof suitcase for travel. To transport very large files (some EPS files...
  14. Looking for input: pad print? screen? flatbed?

Don't try and re-invent the wheel. Just too costly. Broker them from companies that already do that. Google metal or brass business cards.
  15. Cardstock for Easel Back Displays

Two schools of thought. The thinner it is, the more easily it warps in higher moisture areas and falls over. That and some times having it near an AC or heat outlet where the air moves a lot can topple them. Thicker material doesn't warp as bad but can easily fall forward due to the weight...
  16. Windshield price lettering

When we screen printed those (in another life, it seems) we used EZ removable bumper sticker vinyl. Some shops (not us) used cheap vinyl impregnated paper. Both were available from print supply houses like Mac Paper. In any case, the adhesive was merely rubber cement. Nowadays it is very...
  17. DC4sx Printing on Polycarbonate?

Your local plastics supply house probably could provide what you need and many will cut for free or very low cost. Years ago we screen printed a bunch of logos/legends using that stuff and it went into changeable letter track.
  18. PVC edge prep

On PVC and acrylic we use the back of broken hacksaw blade pieces to break the sharp edges and smooth any saw cuts (in case you don't have a small block plane). Ever think of using edge cap on it? Makes it look professional.
  19. Printer of the future

This is the printer I want some day. http://www.dimensionprinting.com/3d-printers/3d-printing-uprint-video.aspx
  20. Static Fix?

I am no expert but as to the front and back catch baskets I have seen many "non-static" and/or "static-free" ones being advertised while shopping on-line for a printer of my own.
