It seems as though I bought a machine that was misrepresented. The Roland Camm-1 Pro Family has 4 point Optical Registration. Using the Cut Studio software that comes with it you can cut up to 36" fully automatic at once. If you set the crop marks manually (Used Onyx Cut Server) you can go to...

With clear plexi you will have to print on a translucent vinyl which is pretty expensive. If the plexi is translucent (sign white) you can print direct to or double strike clear material and apply. Either way you are going to need a diffuser or you will see the lights.

  14. pc60 or pc600?

Be careful of buying either.... especially on ebay. Insist on seeing the printer running. If they can't do that for you dont buy it. PC-60 and PC-600 are older technology. The PC-600 has a ribbon saver feature to save you$$$
  15. Rear heater problem

I had the same problem, I took off the front of the printer so I could get under there and level the heat elements out. It looks like the are misaligned in the picture the should be flush with one another. If you call mutoh they have some kind of fix with some sort of foil they put across the...
  16. Why Gerber is for house wives and mommas boys....

Wow, when I asked for examples of specialized work for the edge, I was shown a second surface graphic that could be done on an inkjet and told about a job that was done 7 years ago when the edge was the cream of the crop. Other than that I received a lot of nasty comments. I was called a fag by...
  17. Why Gerber is for house wives and mommas boys....

that was good weasel.. I must say that was funny. The whole thing is besides printing with white, I'm not sure why everyone would want to spend all that money on a gerber edge. Solvent Inkjets can print bigger, cleaner, cheaper and faster than the gerber edge. Why would you want to bottleneck...
  18. Why Gerber is for house wives and mommas boys....

    1. The Gerber Edge costs 17,000 dollars Yes - Even 15,000 is too much - why not buy a Solvent printer? Better quality, at least more than twice the size 38", a used one can be bought for half the price of a gerber. 2. Process printing looks horrible No, I've done large paneled photos that...
  19. Why Gerber is for house wives and mommas boys....

What is not a fact in the statements I made? What is inconsistent? Im sure the gerber does make some people money. I am just educating the potential consumer. The gerber is a very expensive machine to run for the volume it is intended for.
  20. Why Gerber is for house wives and mommas boys....

This a reply to an earlier thread. I'm sure there are some of you who will live by the Gerber and die by the Gerber. Others think it is overpriced and useless. These are a few things to consider when buying one. I will list better ways to spend your money later. 13 reasons why THE Gerber is...
